The horrific suicide video of a 12-year-old girl has gone viral - and police say there is nothing they can do to stop it. Katelyn Nicole Davis, of Cedartown Georgia, streamed herself on Facebook live on December 30, saying that she had been sexually abused by a family member. She continued filming as she hanged herself in the front yard of her Cedartown home. Now the video is being shared online, however, and Polk County authorities say they are powerless to stop it proliferating, Fox 5 reported Wednesday.

I’m not running to view.....does she name her abuser?
The video is not in the link...
No, she does not. I hope they find him... and kill him.
...sad thing is... Someone else in the family knows who, they mostly always do.
Very likely she isnt the only victim..
Dreadful. RIP.
Facebook is really performing a public service by making everyone a TV Star.
“She ends by asking her readers to advise her on how to deal with depression.”
In the article it says she said she was hit with a belt. And that the person TRIED to rape her. It sounds like the relative is a pervert and a jerk, and probably played off of her young age and depression. But - I’m not sure that he should be brought out back and shot quite yet. Although that would seem to be to be a just sentence for attempted rape on a 12-year old.
I wonder how many of the people on her blog answered her question on “how should I deal with my depression” by saying “to kill yourself”. “Yeah - and put it in your blog!”
There are a lot of sick people out there - not just the creepy uncle (or whatever). Maybe the relative is guilty - chop off his penis and make him choke to death on it if he is. But “cyber-bullying” is a big deal too.
12 years old - and had this much to deal with. It was bad enough at that age to deal with the problems us old-farts had to deal with our limited network of friends and classmates. I can’t imagine how a 12-year old deals with the slings and arrows thrown at them from the World-Wide-Web. RIP Katelyn.
It goes on to allege that the man told her to hang herself after she asked him to ‘stop being so perverted in front of my younger siblings.’
Sounds like there was more going on behind the scenes... most abusers are like this... they use fear and intimidation to manipulate little kids because they know they cant fight back..
Both of my daughters years ago, just a bit older than this girl, acted out due to anxiety and depression. Including claiming rape. We took it very seriously, police and everything. Turns out the daughter that claimed rape made it up. Years later they (and mom and I) are still dealing with whatever is a bit off in their heads.
But thankfully, due to a lot of effort on their part, they are doing a lot better. I feel bad for kids that think their only way out is suicide. I’ve dealt with those feelings myself when I was younger. I’m not sure at such a young age they can comprehend the loss that they are to the world.
And as adults, I know that we don’t always realize the impact that we have on kids. But, for an adult to tell a child to “go hang yourself” is nuts. (Granted, I’ve said stuff to my kids that I regret - but nothing like that.)
For those who don't know there are a lot of live streaming apps: periscope, younow, youtube, ustream, liveme, lively and facebook. (and more....)
Another girl committed suicide last April on periscope. This poor girl killed herself on liveme, not fb. This video has been posted around for weeks. I've seen it. And my main issue is its about 30 minutes where its obvious she's going to killer herself.
Where is the moderator or someone to cut the streaming? Like the periscope girl or even the white teen tortured on fb. The owners of these apps should have a system (notification or something) to cut these streams.
I wonder how many times Planned Parenthood helped her abusive relative get her an abortion to cover up. Long as they get paid...
Facebook Live is proving to be quite worthless to society as a whole. Time to shut it down.
What is the fascination of posting things on social media? We have deaths, rioting and torture posted. What is more perverse - posting the things or watching them?
How much more of this insanity can God tolerate?
fake smile and death stare picture. Sad.
I always watch for people to drop their “fake” face, to see how/who they “really” are.
It first surfaced through the local newsrag...the Rome News-Tribune, with link.
I foolishly viewed it and for the first time in a long, long time, I was brought to tears.
I am a rough, tough, crustified, curmudgeon of an bastard retired US Army Sergeant Major...I thought I had an impenetrable armor around my heart, but this shattered it.
I strongly advise that one NOT seek the video, it will break your heart.
I refused to bring it up for my wife and I have removed all access to it.
It is a very sad, sad commentary on our wretched lives this day and age, wherein an electronic device can be subverted by a child so bereft of faith in the human race, that she films her own death.
I know she was not cognizant of the turmoil it would create and I don't think that was her intent...she was hurting, badly...there was more raw emotion in that few minutes than I have ever seen in 20 years of US Army activity in several war zones and over 18 years of civilian law enforcement.
There are more out there, just like her.
Please...if anyone suspects that a child is going through a period of time in their lives as this child obviously did...say something, do something.
I find it hard to live with the guilt of me not being able to do something, even though I had no knowledge of what was happening, but that's how gut-wrenching this whole thing is.
I lose count of the number to these kinds of child abuse stories I see every day... and the worst part is, its from people and places you dont even expect..
here is another fine example...
I wouldnt want to see it either... I can barely take it now.
Yep, wondering that too. I also wonder how so many “Christians” in this country can turn a blind eye to things like this in our culture.... or what ISIS is doing to Christians and women over in the middle east.
Although the answer to the second question is easily found in 1 John 2:15: Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
