Democratic Missouri Rep. Lacy Clay wants to file a theft charge with Capitol Hill Police against Republican California Rep. Duncan Hunter for removing a painting in the capitol that depicts police officers as pigs.
Clay told reporters Monday night that police spoke to his chief of staff earlier in the day and have not been helpful to the congressman in his quest to file charges against Hunter.
"I think he was way out of bounds and he broke the law. It's called theft," Clay said. "I don't think anyone up here is qualified to be an art critic. I'm not and no other member is an art critic except oneAlma Adams of North Carolina."

A source on the hill familiar with the matter claims that Clay "asked for law enforcement protection to be present when he puts the painting back up at 10 a.m. [Tuesday]."

“I am surprised that Ryan has not gotten invoved. It is his responsibility to maintain the decorum and dignity of the House.”
That’s what Hunter said this morning on Fox and Friends - that Ryan should get involved and stop this nonsense.
As for Clay... he’s a flat-out moron. How can it be “theft” since the painting was returned to him?
That was Hank Johnson——a moron of the first order.
.
Some unasked questions:
1) Who approves hanging “artwork” on the walls of the capital building?
2) Did this painting have approval to be hung?
3) With Republicans in charge, why was this approved?
A painting depicting POLICE as pigs... and he WANTS POLICE HELP to file charges.
Not getting a lot of help there? Huh.
This should have been written by The Onion.
Yes. Yes it does.
How would Clay feel if a lynching pic was hung? Freedom of speech, its art, blah blah blah.
“That Congressman stole my painting!”
“He did? Wow... do you have any idea where the3 painting is now?”
“Yes, it’s in my office.”
“Uh...”
“He stole it.”
“But...am I missing something here?”
“My painting of police as pigs. He stole it.”
“Police Pigs. In your office.”
“Right.”
“I think I’m getting another call... excuse me.”
Almost as satisfying as when lefty jerk reporter Jimmy Breslin went down to the Crown Heights Riots to report on how the black rioters were being mistreated by the racist "pigs"/police.
His cab was set upon by a black mob which screamed about the "white man," broke out the glass of his cab and dragged him out. Breslin was then beaten, robbed and stripped down to his underwear - in which condition he walked into the local police station for help.
CORRECTION: taken down in runs = taken down AND runs
CORRECTION: foe help = for help
Inside your own office, I believe you are correct.
Sure would be a shame if the cops who protect the capitol building all called in sick tomorrow ...
“People say...”
“Liberalism is a mental disorder” - it has never been truer than now
This on a day when the liberals are trying to trash Senator Sessions for wanting to enforce our laws. Law enforcement should refuse to provide security for this Lacy character. Let him defend and protect himself from his thug buddies.
“Matt Fuller ;@MEPFuller · 1h1 hour ago
Apparently there are rules against “sensationalist” images and Republicans are going to direct the Architect of the Capitol to take it down.”
This decision could be challenged resulting in a vote.
Be interesting to see who doesn’t want to be seen as anti ‘Black’, and who doesn’t want to be seen as anti police.
Fun stuff!
I’m all for a “Piss MLK” being hung in that hallway. Freedom of speech!!! Art!!!
just reported on fix business that democrats took the painting back and have hung it up again
I think that a theft trial circus would not benefit the left here. Reminds me of Geert Wilders and his uncompromising stand during his trial in the Netherlands for being politicially incorrect. His defiance was the last thing the Dutch left wanted. They were looking to humiliate him and he turned the tables on them.
