In Historic Move, Sen. Booker to Testify Against Sessions

Sen. Cory Booker, D-New Jersey, will apparently make history this week when he testifies before the Judiciary Committee against Sen. Jeff Sessions' nomination for attorney general in hearings that begin Tuesday.

Booker's office said Monday that the Senate historian had been unable to find any previous instance of a sitting senator's testifying against a fellow sitting senator nominated for a Cabinet position.

Noting that "I'm breaking a pretty long Senate tradition," Booker said Monday on MSNBC's "All In": "We've seen Jeff Sessions — that's Senator Jeff Sessions — consistently voting against or speaking out against key ideals of the Voting Rights Act, taking measures to try to block criminal justice reform."

"He has a posture and a positioning that I think represent a real danger to our country," Booker said.

In 1986, the Senate Judiciary Committee killed President Ronald Reagan's nomination of Sessions to a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama after four former Justice Department colleagues testified that he had made racially offensive statements.

Sessions turned the rejection into a launchpad for his political career. He was elected attorney general of Alabama before being elected in 1996 to the U.S. Senate, where he is considered among the more conservative members.

Several other prominent African-American figures in addition to Booker also plan to testify against Sessions, R-Alabama, a former U.S. attorney and attorney general in Alabama, including two members of the House: Rep. John Lewis, D-Georgia, a leader of the civil rights movement of the 1960s; and Rep. Cedric Richmond, D-Louisiana, the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus.

The NAACP has also strongly opposed Sessions' nomination, calling him "a threat to desegregation and the Voting Rights Act."

Sen. Booger following the Drat narrative. Anyone that will follow the Constitution is not acceptable to the people wallowing in victim hood. How in the world can they get more privileges for the unproductive if the Constitution is the rule book.Hang racist attack paintings in the Capital and completely hide from the fact that it is their own people are doing the killing.

“Delusional racists like Booker are the real danger...”

This is Booker preparing for 2020. Watch how he, Liawatha and other young leftists rise up. This is their coming out party.

He has made a name for himself! Cory “the milkman” Booker. The same guy who delivered fresh gallons of milk to his constituents when they lost power from super storm sandy. No matter they lacked refrigeration, it was the thought that counted.

I do not think so either. You can count on the McCain pair, John and Linda[Lindsey] plus about a dozen more that I can't recall their names, siding with the Democrats. The Left is not going to give up the power given to them in the previous two elections by the traitors, parasites, fools, and American haters merely because they lost this election. The fight has not even begun. They will fight Donald like we should have fought obama. However we had no allies to help fight obama. We had no political Party to assist us, For that matter , we still don't. We do have Donald Trump, which is more than we had when obama occupied the White House. When obama occupied the White House it was only Americans versus obama. He had both political Parties in his corner, the Republican Party and the Democrat Party doing his bidding.By the Grace of a Merciful God, as General Mac Aurthur was fond of saying we have been given a Leader, not only a Leader, but a fighting Leader. A Leader that is superior to any the other side has. From this point until the end,we hold our destiny and the destiny of our future generations in our hands. Will we be up to the task?

Cory just doing Valerie Jarrett's bidding. I'd say it is the first sign that he plans to run for the WH in 2020. Gotta earn his bona fides.

You are Correct. We can expect no different from the Democrat Party and its members. The Democrat Party was conceived in the deepest and darkest pit in Hell by Satan himself. As time passes, its true form and purpose begins to manifest itself. By the Grace of God, we have been given a Leader to fight this. Not only have we been given a Leader, we have been given a Leader that is not afraid to fight. We, Americans, fought obama alone, we prevented him from completing his task. We had no allies. We had no political Party to assist us, both political Parties, the Republican Party and the Democrat Party were busy doing obama’s bidding. In spite of having both political Parties against us, the mainstream media against us, the institutions such as the IRS, and others, we prevented obama from accomplishing his mission. Granted, he did some damages. He had some successes. But in the end, he failed. Because we, to the best of our ability fought and resisted him. November, 2016, again , with God's help we got a Leader. The onus is now on us. We now have the responsibility and privilege to insure that our off spring enjoy the same way of life we do/did. Are we up to the task, or will we be weighted and found wanting?

Obama has spoiled any chance a negro has of being elected president again!

Having said that, I have to recognize the fact that imbecilic Americans voted TWKICE to send and retain this foreigner in the oval orifice.

If the media were a true, unbiased seeker of truth and justice this lunatic would never have been elected an Illinois State senator, let alone a U. S. one. Electing Looney America’s president was an act fitting of a nation on the brink of insanity.

True; I think many RINOs are upset with Trump because he showed that Republican voters could select someone else in a primary...

He got a lot of votes outside Newark to get his Senate seat; then again, there probably wasn’t even a Republican challenger at this point...
