Donald Trump Denounces Meryl Streep and News Media After Tough Weekend

“There was one performance this year that stunned me — it sank its hooks in my heart,” Ms. Streep said. “Not because it was good; there was nothing good about it. But it was effective and it did its job. It made its intended audience laugh, and show their teeth.

“It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter,” she said, referring to a speech in 2015 when Mr. Trump shuddered and flailed his arms, appearing to mock a disabled reporter at The New York Times. “It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can’t get it out of my head, because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life.”

Mr. Trump, in his inimitable way, spoke with Patrick Healy of The Times to respond to that attack — and then took to Twitter.

One of the things I like most about Trump is he fights back.

I agree. But in this case, I think he should have fought back differently. If he'd tweeted something like, "I wish Meryl Streep a nice life", and left it at that, the libs wouldn't know what to do with it.

Instead, his response just gave the lefties what they want, and so he and the rest of us can expect more of the same from them to get it.

Yep. I bet it did serve you well with all those prima donnas and just plain mental cases. Having worked in the business I have a question...I watched a LOT of Hallmark over the holidays and I noticed that some of the “actresses” especially, had sort of a Valley Girl speech (sort of child like) and they spoke so rapidly I couldn’t follow what they were saying at the time. In the day, I thought all took diction lessons? No?
