Hugh Laurie absolutely roasted Donald Trump and the entire Republican party during his Golden Globes acceptance speech tonight.
The actor won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Series, Limited Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television for his work in The Night Manager, and he began his speech by saying “Thank you first to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for this amazing honor. I suppose it’s made more amazing by the fact that I’ll be able to say I won this at the last ever Golden Globes…I don’t mean to be gloomy, it’s just that it has the words Hollywood, Foreign and Press in the title.”

Believe it or not, I switched onto to the Globes only to see Streep. I can’t stand the Hollywood crowd ever since they’ve been freaking out over DT’s election. I was curious. I never ever liked Streep for some reason. Never liked her acting and always wondered why the fuss over her.

I told myself, she just made the perfect case as to why Trump won.

The cameras cut to a shot of Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn, who were most decidedly NOT in favor of her comments.
Even the leftist audience couldn't muster more than a third to give her a standing ovation.

Barely won? If you think like a lefty that this is a democracy and only the popular vote counts, then actually he lost.
Trump won wit over 300 electoral votes, that’s not too shabby. He has a mandate to do what he promised.
