The nation's top intelligence official said Thursday Russia undoubtedly interfered in America's 2016 presidential election but stopped short of the explosive description of "an act of war," telling lawmakers such a call isn't within the purview of the U.S. intelligence community.
In a joint report that roiled the presidential campaign last fall, the Homeland Security Department and the intelligence community said the U.S. was confident of foreign meddling, including Russian government hacking of Democratic emails.
In its assessment, the intelligence community has said Moscow interfered in the election to help Republican Donald Trump win.

Note that almost all Congressional hearings are fake. Those who testify get written questions ahead of time and committee members see written answers ahead of time. Only a few ad libs are real time.
This ‘hearing’ wasn’t even supposed to cover any real information, which will come next week.

Oh I have little doubt that any state with paid hackers hacked the DNC server... they are working full time to hack any and all servers they can...
However, concluding that because they hacked it that they were a) the only people who hacked and B) were the source of the wikileaks is flat out imagined nonsense.
Its one thing to say we believe they hacked the server...
Its another to allege they leaked information gleaned from it to influence the election.
There is ABSOLUTELY no evidence of the latter at all.
The CIA Benghazi attack talking points were edited (re-written) with heavy State department input multiple times. They said it was a spontaneous attack arising from a demonstration, not a terror attack. Terror, you see, was eliminated by Obama, so it had to be caused by a video. Bogus, politicized propaganda to help Obama win re-election in November 2012.

We all know that Russia, China, North Korea and Iran are constantly trying to hack US based computers. So the spooks are saying what was done by Russia was different than what they usually do?
How so? Specifically. NOPE, NOPE, NOPE, don't use generalities or appears similar to what Russia did in another situation. Specifics.
This is politically induced to hurt Trump. Dem's feel that there is a parallel Watergate where a Republican President was forced to resign because of dirty tricks at a Democratic Campaign office. They want to somehow turn the leaking of DNC computer files into a new Watergate.
The problem is that Watergate had Nixon's fingerprints all over it. The Hacking of the DNC has not Trump or Republican fingerprints. The Dem's are hoping that people are too stupid to realize the difference.
What U.S. Official? Put them under oath and make them name names and give facts. In other words, make them cite chapter and verse.
James Clapper lied under oath to the US Congress concerning NSA data collected on American citizens. I personally think he is lying about the DNC hack also.

The hearings were televised. No one was anonymous. It is a felony to lie to or mislead Congress regardless of being under oath.

Actually it is not, otherwise Hillary Clinton would be in prison. They may say that it is and selective prosecute some. Hillary Clinton has been lying to Congress and misleading Congress for a number of years and she is still walking around.
