LIVING PRAYER
Brother Lawrence was a monk who lived almost 300 years ago and worked in the galley of his monastery. He wrote a book, The Practice of the Presence of God, which today is considered a classic in the area of Christian devotion. Brother Lawrence spent much of his time in the monastery scullery scrubbing pots and pans. He also had a collateral duty as the monastery cobbler. In these jobs, he said, he learned to glorify God in simple tasks and to pray with his hands. By bringing to each small job the best of his ability, he developed the practice of living prayer. Whether he was bustling around the galley, repairing shoes or kneeling in prayer, he learned to grow spiritually as well as mentally and to cultivate a never-ending, ever-deepening sense of God's presence.
Each day you do hundreds of small tasks. Perhaps you feel at times unrecognized or unnoticed, or that your job is insignificant in the great scope of things. The fact is it doesn't matter what you do or what position you hold. What really matters is the spirit in which you work, and how you approach your work. Brother Lawrence teaches us an important and very wise lesson: Even the simplest tasks, when done to the best of your ability, are important in God's eyes. Whenever you bring to any job the best of yourself, your fullest mind, an honest heart, and a striving for excellence, then your work, no matter what you do, becomes like a living prayer to God.

I's been an interesting day. Ashlie texted about 6:30a about a dog that she just picked up as a surrender...too much dog, hyper, etc. It turned out to be what was next on her list for "want". A Dutch Shepherd (like a malinois on crack...her words). She hopes to keep him.
She's calling him Enzo, for Enzo Ferrari because he's so fast.
Back to bed after chatting for an hour. Then my Mom, in her chair, came to my door o ell me my Dad had fallen ou of bed. (My T is getting worse.) After 5 minues of gentle talking to her, we decided she was still asleep, or was, and I got her back to bed. I gave up...no sleeping in. Will try again this morning.

OMG! Enzo’s ears rival Barrett’s! I think they beat ‘em actually. LOL!
He’s a pretty boy though. Love the coloring. But it sounds like she’s going to have her hands full with him if she keeps him.
Sorry you weren’t able to sleep in. Should have turned your cell phone off! :-)
Hope you have better luck this morning. You missed out on a lot of sleep last week.

Dang! Lucky y’all! It was too wet for fireworks here tonight. No big to-do in the towns but people all around set them off in their yards at midnight. I have some I’d planned to shoot but no dice. It was a quiet night. :-(
I think Enzo’s adorable. He has a mischievous face and I just love those humongous ears. LOL
*snicker* Yes, I do read typo well. Sure will be nice for you when you get your new keyboard. No more having to go back to check on the “t”s.
Will you be able to stay awake til Hawaii rings in or should you set your alarm?
