The streets of San Francisco are used to weird smells. However, on Wednesday morning, a mysterious rotten-egg and sulfur-like odor that baffled city and federal agencies and prompted dozens of phone calls of complaint.

The calls initially came from the downtown area and then moved toward the Marina, Sunset and Richmond neighborhoods. SFist said complaints also poured in from Bayview, the Tenderloin, Nob Hill, the Marina, SoMa and the Mission.
Officials with SF Environment, San Francisco Public Works and the citys Department of Emergency Management, as well as Recology, were reportedly notified, KQED reports.

I lived in the Bay Area in 1989.
My cat was going berserk, looking wild-eyed and hunkering on the floor like she was holding onto a wobbly skateboard, in the weeks prior to the Loma Prieta quake.
When the quake hit, I ran out of my office. Noticed immediately a sulphurous smell, and the sky was pea green.
Should be “foul odors and unusual darkness”
Sulfur is the smell of the demonic. Ask any paranormal investigator and they will tell you that when you smell sulfur you must put up your guard as demons lurk in the immediate vicinity.
Green clouds have long been associated with tornadoes here in the southeast. Speculation is that conditions are such that the clouds are “reflecting” the green of vegetation on the ground.
Hmmmm ..?? Might want to check with the recent earthquakes which happened near the Nevada/CA border .. could have triggered underground activity which would have ended up underneath the City of SF.
Check with USGS.gov .. they might be able to clarify.
Agree with the funding cuts - it will be Sessions' job to carry out the indictment/prosecution parts.....too bad Gitmo won't be on the list of long term "resorts' ..
The exhaust of certain makes of cars smell like rotten eggs under heavy load, such as when accelerating up a hill.

The city/county could get together with the usgs to monitor radon, tc, i would imagine.
I would also imagine that the hayward fault is actually overdue to pop and so also at risk simply by way of the calendar...
