Remarkable that the US turned its back on its strongest ally (and the only true democracy) in the Middle East.

Most countries view Israeli settlement activity in the West Bank and East Jerusalem as ...an obstacle to peace.

No, they view it as an obstacle to Israel's destruction, which they want.

"captured by Israel in a 1967 war with its Arab neighbors"

Won by Israel after a surprise attack when its barbarous blood-thirsty enemies tried to murder them.

Samantha Powers stated in her speech today "One cannot simultaneously champion expanding Israeli settlements and champion a viable two-state solution that would end the conflict. One has to make a choice between settlements and separation."

Can someone in the Obama administration please explain what this "viable two-state solution" looks like and how it can be expected to end the Middle East conflict.

This would be a good first step. Why do they even belong to the UN? Why do we?

The US didn’t betray Israel, Obama did.

Here’s hoping the US reconsiders the UN as well.

Obama is just making sure those retirement checks(probably start as cash on an unmarked Plane anyway) from his Muslim friends keep coming

Hang tough, Bibi. The true friends of Israel will be arriving soon, led by one Donald J. Trump.

[the US turned its back on its strongest ally]

The OBAMA Administration betrayed ISRAEL. The American people overwhelmingly support the nation.

These countries voted against Israel while the US sat back and did not vote: Britain, Russia, China, France, Angola, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Senegal, Spain, Ukraine, Uruguay, Venezuela. Shame on Britain with a so called Conservative PM, shame on NZ, shame on Egypt, shame on Japan. If I was Donald Trump, I would call Netanyahu and ask him to recall his US and UN ambassadors until Jan 20 to show his extreme displeasure and happiness at the new Trump administration.

I guess if you don’t always get your way, you have to throw a huge sh*t-fit.

US turned its back on its strongest ally

Given the long and extensive history of Israeli espionage against the USA, I have to wonder what kind of "strongest ally" this is.

62.5% of all of Palestine’s GDP comes from US government aid - while only 3.5% of Israel’s does. Trump has repeatedly said that as soon as he is sworn into into office on Jan 20th he will end all the US aid to Palestine ... and give it to Israel instead.

So it doesn’t matter what the UN rules on, by April Palestine will have run out of money and will cease to exist. Israel can then build wherever it likes.
Will Muslim countries make up the cash difference and so save Palestine? No because fighting and killing other Muslims in Iraq, Syria and Yemen is more important to them than saving Palestine.

Even more; all of Israel’s main trading partners - India, US, China, EU, Russia, Turkey and Egypt have all said they would ignore any UN ban on trading with Israel.

Israel has won.

Israel has won.
