Fewer than three per cent of the 1.2 million migrants who came to Germany in the last two years have found employment, newly released government figures show.
Of the 34,000 who have managed to find a job within the last 11 months, nearly a quarter (22 per cent) are on temporary contracts, according to statistics from the German government’s Institute for Labour Research (IAB).
A further 20 per cent are on zero hours contracts. 57 per cent of those falling into these two categories are employed in the hospitality industry, Süddeutsche Zeitung has reported.
The figures pertained to migrants from the eight major asylum countries of origin including Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Angela Merkel may be bright in many things including a doctors degree in I believe applied chemistry. But in human nature as well as on the subject of history she certainly leaves something to be desired. As explained at some point by the news media her reasons for bringing in refugees was to replenish the declining birth rate in Germany and provide an increase in the labor force. All I can say is that she must have been dreaming when she expected those refugees to be ready and willing to work. Yes, maybe a few but the majority is just as happy doing nothing, living off the government and accepting handouts and many creating trouble and mayhem. Too bad Angela flunked her history lessons or perhaps where she came from, at the time I believe East Germany they taught a different version. Once again the old adage live and learn comes into play and if you don’t history will repeat itself until you do, or you fail.

Yet, according to Frau Merkel, the whole point of Germany's immigration policy was to bolster the work force in the face of a declining birth rate.
More workers were needed to support an aging population going on the dole. So, she imports a million Muslims who, themselves, go on the dole.

A) They are not migrants.
B) They are not there to work.

I remember it was only about 10 years ago that every liberal used to speak about Europe as if it were the perfect example of the success of liberalism and how the USA should be. And now, every conservative thinks of Europe as the canary in the coal mine or as a warning of what can happen to us.
Serious, I don’t understand what they were thinking. The Europeans attained through socialist utopia, and then they decide to bring millions of Muslims in to enhance it.
Hard to believe. The paper says the economy is good and unemployment hovers around 4%.
