Maine’s four Electoral College electors will gather today in the House of Representatives chamber — as will electors in state capitols across the U.S. — to cast the final votes for president. You didn’t read it here first but based on the results of the general election, Democrat Hillary Clinton claimed three of Maine’s four electoral votes while Republican President-elect Donald Trump earned the fourth with his convincing win in the 2nd Congressional District.
However, one of Maine’s electors could defect and it has nothing to do with Trump. David Bright, an elector for the Democrats, said Monday he intends to vote for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who won Maine’s Democratic caucuses in March.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Democratic elector in Washington state said Friday he won’t vote for Hillary Clinton even if she wins the popular vote in his state on Election Day, adding a degree of suspense when the Electoral College affirms the election results next month.
Robert Satiacum, a member of Washington’s Puyallup Tribe, supported Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary. He said he believes Clinton is a “criminal” who doesn’t care enough about American Indians and “she’s done nothing but flip back and forth.”

This is not funny but a strategy to undermine the electoral college.

Exactly right, it’s an attempt by dems to undermine the electoral college.
Electors should vote for who they’re supposed to vote for. Those who don’t should suffer severe penalties.
it’s be great if a few D electors from MI, PA, WI, WV, etc. also switched but to TRUMP!

Bright is a Quaker surname, or at least it is in North Carolina. Quakers have quite the history as far as this sort of thing, major conscientious objectors in many wars, the devout Quakers have been at least (Richard Nixon apparently wasn’t devout). This guy may be being completely sincere. I don’t know if Quakers forbid oath-taking, don’t electors in Maine have to take an oath?
They honestly should or else states need to make these positions ceremonial and just have these people put pre-printed ballots in a box as just a personal honor just to say you were an elector.
There are NO D electors from those states voting.
There was no doubt in my mind that Bernie and his supporters were unfairly treated by the Clinton and Democrat machine.
