McCain: US Must 'Get to the Bottom' of Foreign Hacking

I guess I should assume that each state provides security for its electors; however, any threats to electors should be taken just as seriously as threats to those in Congress. Since the Founding Fathers decided to attach actual people to the electoral votes of each state; in today’s sorry age, electors are now under threat for the simple task of what should be a formality.

Even IF the Russians hacked into the DNC server, they didn't write those emails, and if the democrats weren't duplicitous and unethical - as exemplified by those emails, it wouldn't have mattered if people saw those emails or not. Further, the Russians didn't force Hillary to break the law and put classified materials on her home server.

So just how did the Russians ‘interfere’ with democracy, John? Even Obama admitted that there's no evidence of any foreign interference with the actual voting or vote tallying process, so just how did ‘hacking’ influence the election? Did you complain about the tape of Trump being released? Did you complain about the constant media attacks on Trump? Are you concerned about the attempts to circumvent the Constitution by threatening and trying to coerce Electoral College electors to vote differently from the will of the people of their respective states?

Something makes me think you might be a bit worried about what might be found if your email was hacked (and I would be very, very surprised if you didn't have a private email account as well).

For years (my girlfriend can affirm) I have been asking, "Why aren't hacking and identity theft - enormous problems which affect nearly everyone (and which usually have no political implications) - ever mentioned during the presidential campaign season?"

If this so-called Russian hacking finally gets the broader issue of cyber theft elevated to a national priority, it can only be a good thing.

The Russians didn’t hack the election, because the voting machines are not even hooked up to the internet. Even if the Russians had given the info to WikiLeaks all they were doing is releasing the truth-something the USA used to do through the voice of America and radio free Europe-so what’s the matter with that?
