In republics, laws are made either directly or indirectly by its component members. In the US, that means the people and the states.
Since the states foolishly booted themselves from the senate in 1913, it was only a matter of time before progressives neutralized the House of Reps as well.
Today, ninety-nine percent of US lawmaking is done by exec branch agencies.
Therefore, the US is not a republic.
