The seizing of an unmanned US Navy drone by the Chinese is an unpresidented [sic] act, President-elect Donald Trump tweeted early Saturday.
The USNS Bowditch, which has a civilian crew, was about to retrieve the underwater device Thursday when it was snapped up by a Chinese warship in the South China Sea.
China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented [sic] act, Trump wrote on Twitter. Hes since deleted the misspelled tweet.
The $150,000, 10-foot drone was part of a scientific mission collecting oceanographic data. Its the first time in recent history China has taken a US naval vessel, a Navy spokesman said.
Bonnie Glaser, senior adviser for Asia at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said the seizure of the drone occurred inside the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines and appeared to be a violation of international law.

“unprecedented.” Doesn’t someone proofread the Tweets? Or did spellcheck or voice recognition do this?

Here we go again - the same press who ignored Obama’s “I visited 57 states, and “speaking Austrian,” and “corpse-man,” and his rambling, incoherent 40-second brain-freeze at a 2008 town hall, and his mistranslated “re-set button,” are jumping all over this.

This is a bush league trolling error. he needs to learn that spelling matters when you’re trolling on the internet. This is especially true when you’re trolling a foreign cuntry like China. He has to learn that spelling mistakes can be used by you or against you.

He should have left it posted as is without editing.
When the media "called" him on it, he could then respond:
"...I know what I wrote. Believe me, our wonderful country has been unpresidented for nearly a decade.
Let's Make America Great Again..."

The same people who didn’t have a problem with 58 states, the Austrian language, and pronouncing “corpsman” “Corpse man”

"But Trump is no Dan Quail."
Quayle's "potatoe" gaffe came from a cue-card prepared by a teacher, and he assumed it was correct. Actually, I think "potatoe" is a correct albeit archaic spelling for "potato."
Quayle was a reasonably smart guy with a law degree, but that didn't prevent the bully press from forever treating him like a dunce over this one incident.
Never forget: the press are bullies. Trump, at least, will swing back.

if i had a nickel for every time the spell checker got away from me, i would be as rich as he is... (or maybe not)Libs act like it's a cardinal sin. They forget that King Putt has made plenty of errors through his term.
To: COUNTrecount
I don’t care how he spelled it. TRUMP meant it, and CHINA knows he meant it.

right. Did you see what I just did there? They can be used by you or against you.

"Let me be the first."
This just shows that everyone - even people with normally excellent grammar and spelling - seems to screw-up when typing emails and other on-line messages. I do it all the times.
But the media are predictably jumping all over this Trump gaffe, even as they ignored Obama's gaffes (57 states, corpse-man, Austrian language, mistranslated re-set button, and so forth).

What’s everyone talking about? China stealing vessels from us.
Mission Accomplished.

Misunderestimated, yes, in order to be potatoed.
Spelling isn’t respected much lately, but it’s only reportable when a Republican fluffs it.

So now this story gets a lot more coverage than it would.

Getting back to the actual story, we deploy a drone in enemy waters and there is no self-destruct mechanism on it? Who agreed to that contract?

Just send out another underwater drone, but load it with
50 pounds of Semtex with an air activated detonator.

And I would imagine the spell checker/auto correct on any device Trump uses would always default to “president” because that word is used so much on his devices.
