Most oil heat tanks are in a basement, but i live in a mobile home with the tank outside. This works fine in the South, but not so great in New England. Last night was BEYOND Cold. Wind chill with the 4 degree temp was calculated to be 30 below.

First we thawed out the lines with a hair dryer, then wrapped it with electrical wire to warm it, and wrapped insulation around it. The water drains were thawed with kettles of boiling water heated up on the propane stove.

The plumber had to come twice. He flushed out the system and restarted it.

A guy from church will come over (hopefully on the weekend) to wrap the rest of the pipes.

I am tired.

For what it helps, you have my prayers. Milder temps are on the way. Hang in there!
