Evolutionists Couldn’t Have Been More Wrong About Antibiotic Resistance

Dec. 15, 2016

A colony of bacteria similar to the one analyzed in the study being discussed. (click for credit) A colony of bacteria similar to the one analyzed in the study being discussed. (click for credit) Back when I went to university, I was taught (as definitive fact) that bacteria evolved resistance to antibiotics as a result of the production of antibiotics. This was, of course, undeniable evidence for the fact that new genes can arise through a process of mutation and natural selection. Like most evolution-inspired ideas, however, the more we learned about antibiotic resistance in bacteria, the more we learned that there was a problem.

“There is yet to be a falsehood that undermines TToE in the slightest”

Sure that’s what you’re trying to say?

“Seems to go in the opposite direction from “natural selection” theory.”

Live bacteria that reproduce more slowly than the dead bacteria is still a reproductive advantage.

>>Sure that’s what you’re trying to say?<<

It came out strange.

What I wanted to say is there has yet to be a single datum that has undermined TToE.

The article on point does not and is a mis-analysis of the underlying studies.

Evolution is a religion.

>>Evolution is a religion.<<

Then so are physics, astronomy, and geology.

Airplanes fly b/c angels lift their wings donchaknow.

That is it for this thread. Enough people have shown up and shown this author to be misainformed and it is clear this does NOT undermine TToE.

I just wanted lurkers to know there are many Conservatives who understand science.

Not gonna refight the CREVO wars.

Have a good night.

The debate is over, then?

Why are there no arguments over the equation for the law of gravity? Why no fighting over the role of the cell membrane in biological organisms, or over the role of hemoglobin in the bloodstream?

Answer: Because these items of facts do not provoke human emotion in the way religious beliefs do.

Slow reproduction is a decreased advantage compared with faster reproduction.

How do the dead bacteria that used to quickly reproduce have a reproductive advantage over living bacteria that slowly reproduce?

You are showing your ignorance.

>>Why are there no arguments over the equation for the law of gravity? <<

Less is known about the Theory of Gravity than TToE.

That and the rest of your scientific observations (developed as a result of Scientific Theories) show you, like most, do not know what a Scientific Theory is nor do you know why TToE is one and AGW is not.

Now I really am done — you should do your homework before picking up this topic again.

Much learning do you need.

If less is known about gravity there should be more arguing, not less.

You’re just parroting leftist/liberal talking points that are from those who make science and evolution a type of religion, not sciences, and have nothing to do with real science.

” I was taught (as definitive fact) that bacteria evolved resistance to antibiotics as a result of the production of antibiotics.”

This guy’s teacher was an idiot, or this guy didn’t really understand what the teacher was saying.

Genetic mutations occur all the time. The penicillinase mutation has no value if there is no penicillin around. It might even be deleterious. However, if penicillin is around, those bacteria that do have this mutation will out-reproduce those that don’t, leading to a strain that is resistant to that antibiotic.
