For the first time in 20 years, no Washington, DC, marching band will perform in the presidential inauguration.
The bands that have performed at the last five inaugural parades — plus all other local groups — have not applied to participate in President-elect Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, NBC 4 Washington reports.
“I think everybody knows why and no one wants to say and lose their job,” Howard University band director John Newson, whose band marched for President Obama’s swearing-in ceremony in 2009, told the local news affiliate.

If I were Trump, I would have the Inauguration indoors in a private ceremony, cancel the Balls and the Parades and just get to work cancelling Obama Executive Orders and passing Legislation.. That would send the right message to America instead of the same old stuff.
I am sure they will have absolutely no trouble finding marching bands to participate; screw the leftists who think they are going to shut this down by staying home.
When you rely on the government, politics becomes personal, and the personal becomes political.
First they have to tell us who in the hell ‘asked’ them in the first place?
They will all go to their time out zones and hug a puppy...
Will just have to get a marching band from one of those RED states. Maybe Michigan, Pennsylvania or Wisconsin?
Who asked them to participate?
Maybe the schools got a “heads up” from the “we will shut down the inauguration” people, and were told to stay away for their own safety. Maybe they are staying away because they were warned that there will be violence going on.
