In looking at the escalation of this “The Russians Did It” nonsense, including the role of (apparently) the highest echelons of the CIA, the vote recount efforts, pressure and threats on electors, etc., but particularly the latest claims that “Trump knew” and Putin was personally involved, it appears to me that the United States is in the throes of what I would term a “soft coup”.
In history and politics, a coup is an attempt to illegally overthrow, replace, or undermine a government. Taken from the French phrase coup d’etat, which translates to a “blow” or “stroke” of, or at, the State, a coup may be violent or not. Furthermore, it appears that the neocons and globalists from “both sides” of the political aisle (which, in my opinion, doesn’t even exist) couldn’t care less that they are inching us toward a no-shit war with Russia (and probably China and their proxies as well).
How can an awakened America wake up ?
The idea that President Obama could start a war with Russia, then hand it off to Trump is scary than any scenario I have ever had about the Fulda Gap.
And the media would trumpet from every tower how all of this was Trump’s fault and that Hillary could have reset those relationships.
I’ve started thinking the same thing the past few days. But this could also backfire on the #NeverTrumpers in the long run. I include John McCain and his girlfriend in the #NeverTrumpers.

Yes. This is what it is. I don’t think most Americans understand just how close we’ve come to losing everything that America has stood for.
If it’s a coup that they want, then it’s a coup that they’ll get.

It may be a soft coup now but if it continues it will get really hard for those instigating it,
Regarding McCain, Graham and others, I completely agree. I’m just waiting to see if the rumored Wikileaks Report #1078645 is real. If so, it’ll destroy McCain, Graham, Bush (Jeb), Fiorina and Kasich at a minimum.

But, since a truly harmonious transition is now out of the question, I’d prefer to see a relatively peaceful transition of power, then a full-blown series of investigations and prosecutions of those who instigated this. Trump now appears to be a much greater threat to globalism than even Reagan and he is obviously seriously pissing off some powerful people who will stop at nothing to see their aims achieved.

Wikileaks document #1078645 is an email between John Podesta and Huma Abedin. Podesta was the Clinton campaign manager while Abedin was her long-time aid. Abedin was also married to serial womanizer and penis-pic expert, Anthony Weiner. In the email, first reported by Departed, it appears to show that three Trump challengers were also on the Clinton payroll.
Reality is difficult to grasp.
Most of us don’t. Indeed, we invent our own realities, and live according to the straw man we or others built.
When your reality varies so widely from the objective reality nobody can properly see, then objective reality will haul you back into line. That can be extremely painful, even deadly.
For example, the Germans were sure Hitler was a great guy, that National Socialism was excellent policy, that Jews really were undermining their world, that they needed to protect their fellow Germans in nearby countries. That was their view of reality. They stuck to it in the face of pretty dire risks, threats, and through to civilizational destruction.
Sometimes, the only way your false perception of reality can be hauled back into line is through your death, the death of your offspring, and the destruction of your entire way of life, civilization, etc. That’s the final proof that you were wrong. Too late for you, but too bad, so sad.
A Republic allows for a certain amount of political discourse and decision making short of bloodletting. But if a political group decides to go outside the Republican method of determining policy, there are repercussions. The South learned that the hard way. Liberals may yet too, depending on how far they pursue their current resistance to objective reality.

I see here in FR a slue of "wake up" type of posts and I decided to comment on that "request"
What makes the author or poster think we are not awake ?
