Yes! One or the other.

Did you know that the upper East side of Manhattan used to be called GermanTown?

It still is by the older folk but just like Little Italy, not too many Germans anymore.

We Italians headed to staten island, brooklyn and NJ.

I guess you guys headed west? Would love to know where all those Germans relocated.

My father’s family headed to western Indiana in 1846.My father moved to Cleveland to work on the railroad.Then Mom and Dad bought this farm about 45 miles Southwest of Cleveland.Funny thing is the family moved from Germany because the men got tired of being impressed into the Prussian army.Got here and settled ust in time for the Civil War,and we’ve been in every war since then.
