Very well, then the department gets gutted to a man.
Starting with the person who generated the response stated in the article.

“The Energy Department has a $32 billion annual budget, yet the bulk of its workforce nearly 100,000 employees comes from private contractors. The agency has 14,000 government employees.”
Absolutely amazing.

He can start with an audit of travel records and see who attended the climate scare conferences
And freeze all travel to nonessential events
Then see what his departments define as “ essential”

Mass firings, and hire only as many as they need with a vastly stripped budget. Since Trump has been elected, about the only thing they should do from now on is certify new power plants.

Kind of neat they put a guy in charge of it that thinks it should be eliminated. Like hiring a wrecking ball company. Talk about draining the swamp!

Putting off the inevitable - many will be looking for work elsewhere once Perry is at the head of it. he wanted to do away with the Department and he probably has some ideas of how to pare it down....

No problem. You appointed a new Head, when they take over they issue a memo to all department heads with that request those that do not comply get fired. Grade school time will soon be over. The adults are coming!

“
it is good to fire a government employee from time to time, it encourages the performance the others” A reasoned application of the “Byng Protocol” will greatly improve performance plus the morale of the diligent.
