You just knew this was coming… Republican leader Mitch McConnell warned today he will not pass Donald Trump’s tax cuts.
Senate Majority Leader McConnell has a different plan. Bloomberg.com reported:
President-elect Donald Trump’s race to enact the biggest tax cuts since the 1980s went under a caution flag Monday as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell warned he considers current levels of U.S. debt “dangerous” and said he wants any tax overhaul to avoid adding to the deficit.
“I think this level of national debt is dangerous and unacceptable,” McConnell said, adding he hopes Congress doesn’t lose sight of that when it acts next year. “My preference on tax reform is that it be revenue neutral,” he said.

In a couple cases he decided Obama wasn't spending enough so they raised his ask a little.

OK - then will they approve reducing expenditures - welfare, aid to foreign nations, corporate incentives, etc.?? Any cuts Trump wants??

The headline is so misleading. Wanting it to be revenue neutral is why Trump and Paul Ryan are 5% away. Trump keeps saying 15% and Paul Ryan keeps saying 20%. They will work it out and it will be revenue neutral at 18%. Trump isn’t an idiot and he’s not an ideologue. They’ll get it as low as they can and it will pass with bi-partisan support. Stop posting “news” from this site
