My take is that by putting out this "Russians will hack the German election" meme, the left - via its moles in the intelligence agencies - hopes to manipulate people into voting for Merkel just to show the Russians who's boss. No proof of actual Russian involvement is needed.

Also note that - if the Russians were involved in the US election process at all (IF!) - it was through hacking the DNC, NOT by hacking any part of our election infrastructure. But this German claim is sneakily morphing into the idea that the Russians will hack the actual election mechanism.
