My first car was a Vega. I wanted a small car. I married into a Auto and Body Shop family and they kept the Vega in great shape. It was perhaps the only Vega on the road right before I sold it. LOL I got a very good price for it from a young man who was very excited to buy it. LOL He couldn’t get over how good it ran. My husband had bought a car while in Vietnam and when he returned it was delivered. It was a blue Dodge Charger perhaps 67 or 68yr. It was really a pretty car.

The early Vegas before those big bumpers were not bad looking, but the appeal ended with the styling. Rust, trim falling off, plastic pieces breaking off of the interior and then you have the aluminum four cylinder engine warping the block routinely. I had an older cousin who bought a Vega Kammback wagon in ‘72, navy blue. He kept it up perfectly, too, but he had a time staying on top of it. A lot of time and expense.

I absolutely love my current car, Pontiac G5 2007. I bought it new and never had one problem with it. Good acceleration and fuel economy...upto 40 mph on long trips.

above for FR
