Fox News just announcing.
Let’s all try to remember John as a truly iconic American hero via the space program. I’m hoping the Muslim-In-Chief will have enough honor to lower the flag, but don’t count on it.
Glenn was a liberal Democrat. I think you can count on it.
I was there in the 1980s. Took me a while to be convinced it referred to “that” Col. Glenn. Back then, we generally didn’t name things after living people.
Reality is reality. It does us no good to whitewash it.
Good riddance and may he burn in Hell.
BTW I'm amazed he is being lionized here, he was no friend of ours.
Politics aside, another great American hero has been called Home. RIP,Sir.
Colonel John Glenn was a bonafide American hero. That deserves to be remembered.
SENATOR Glenn was as much a dirtbag as Senator Kennedy and Senator Byrd (for example) ... but those two lacked Glenn's honorable past.
YES!
Glenn used his American Hero status to provide cover to the Clintons corruption. When push came to shove, he cared more for his party than his country. His behavior was despicable. I remember watching and reading and wondering what had happened to the guy I grew up admiring. The Clintons sold us out to the Chinese, and John Glenn, American Hero, covered their tracks.
At least a few of us remember the real Glenn for what he turned into...a traitor!
Buzz Aldrin is still alive.
Ditto Chuck Yeager, but he was not one of the original 7.
R.I.P., Mr. Glenn.
Thank you for your service to America.
“High Flight
John Gillespie Magee, Jr
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward Ive climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hovring there
Ive chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
Ive topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew
And, while with silent lifting mind Ive trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.”

Beautiful poem. Our beloved past President Reagan quoted it.
‘He was an incredible astronaut, and a mediocre Senator. RIP, John.’

I am sorry; perhaps this is inappropriate, but that made me laugh. :)
Space exploration took a lot of courage. He may have not been a good Senator (I am not familiar with his record), but he inspired many young children.
And it’s not right to speak ill of the dead. JMHO.
No, Glenn was a POS
I must be doing something right. I’m catching $#!+ from everybody ...
He rode an Atlas booter which had a tendency to blow up more often than not. He rode in a capsule where he had to be form fitted to fit inside. Of the first two launches both suborbital, one capsule was lost at sea.
I don't care what his congressional record says, back then, he had brass balls when it mattered and we needed a hero.
Godspeed John Glen.
Familiarize yourself with it. Glenn was a traitor, we should piss on his grave.
Absolutely, but the same can be said of Benedict Arnold as well, treasonous acts nullify patriotic ones.
Are any of the Original Seven left?
