From another story: “A federal judge won’t immediately stop a statewide recount of the Nov. 8 presidential election results Wednesday after hearing 90 minutes of argument following three days of court battles in two states.
U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith said he will issue a written order, possibly later Wednesday, after considering requests from the Michigan Republican Party and state officials that effectively would halt the recount in light of a lower-court ruling Tuesday. The recount started Monday”.
I wonder if (while it would have been nice to have stopped it a great deal earlier) this is ultimately making the left look very bad. It would have been nice for the whole thing to have stopped that while back even at the Wisconsin Election Commission level, but we’ve now gotten to see hardly any change with the recount there soon to be finished (hopefully), therefore they look like they cried wolf in that instance at least. Not to mention some things not adding up in the heavily Democrat areas in terms of the integrity of the original recount.
I’m guessing Goldbrick is thinking about issuing his ruling around next Wednesday.

The Michigan Court of Appeals ruled 3-0 yesterday that Stein is not “an aggrieved candidate” and therefore the recount SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN STARTED in the first place. They also ruled that the Board of Canvassers should halt the recount. Yet, here we are back in Federal (?!) court even after our State court that has the only jurisdiction has ruled.
The lib Fed judge ONLY decided on Sunday (after midnight, in a LOCKED COURTROOM) on the timing of the recount starting, NOT whether the recount COULD start.
Yet, today back before that same lib Fed judge, (following the tweets of a local reporter in the courtroom), there was all types of discussion about everything except the COA ruling yesterday. Discussion about cost. Discussion about potential for fraud and hacking. You name it. Basically obfuscating the entire issue.
This judge has ZERO jurisdiction over the recount and whether it should / should not happen - but, he has threatened (and stomped his feet while doing so) via a TRO that the recount “must continue until *I* say it will stop”.
WTF?!!
This type of stuff really tweaks me off. Can’t we get back to ANY kind of rule of law any more?! I feel like I’m living in some third world tin dictatorship where the powerful just make up the rules as they go, and not the USA where we at least USED to follow the law AS WRITTEN.
What happens if Jill Stein’s deposit is not enough to cover the costs of the recount?
I she personally liable for any amount over what she has already paid?
Can she be forced into bankruptcy?
Right now conservatives are waiting anxiously “for the recount to end” while in smoky backrooms the most corrupt Democrats are screaming “End the darn recount before they figure out our vote-fraud was generating more reported votes than there were live voters casting ballots!”
Let the corrupt votes and fraud of Detroit be fully exposed. Commence with the recounts and charge Jilted Jill Stein for the costs
Why was Stein allowed to access the Federal Court system before exhausting her appeals through the Michigan State appeals process, including the State Supreme Court?

My take is that this is over, recounts or not. I was a pearl clutcher at the very beginning, but I’ve been over that for about a week.
I hope that the Dem vote fraud in Milwaukee and Detroit is exposed to the point that Stein/Hillary regret opening this can of whoop ass.

LANSING, Mich., Dec. 7, 2016 – Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ronna Romney McDaniel applauded the Michigan Board of Canvassers who voted to direct Michigan Director of Elections Chris Thomas to end the recount if Judge Goldsmith lifts his temporary restraining order continuing the Michigan recount. Yesterday, a unanimous Court of Appeals panel ordered the Board of Canvassers by writ of mandamus to reject Jill Stein’s recount petition.
“Enough is enough. The Michigan Court of Appeals ruled. The Michigan Board of Canvassers voted. It’s time to end this wasteful 1% taxpayer-funded recount,” stated MRP Chairman Ronna Romney McDaniel.
This morning, arguments were heard by Judge Goldsmith in Michigan’s Eastern District. Yesterday, the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals made clear, in their ruling, that “If, subsequently, the Michigan courts determine that Plaintiffs’ recount is improper under Michigan state law for any reason, we expect the district court to entertain any properly filed motions to dissolve or modify its order in this case.”
The longer this judge stalls, the more the recount progresses and the longer it will take for him to be overruled by the higher court. He wants the recount to be a fait accompli. He probably wishes he could just deliver the state and the whole election to Clinton.
