The Secret Service agents told the Carrier workers to stay put, so Chuck Jones sat in the factory conference room for nearly three hours, waiting for president-elect Donald Trump. Hed grown used to this suspense.
Seven months earlier, at a campaign rally in Indianapolis, Trump had pledged to save the plants jobs, most of which were slated to move to Mexico. Then the businessman won the election, and the 1,350 workers whose paychecks were on the line wondered if hed keep his promise.
Jones, president of the United Steelworkers 1999, which represents Carrier employees, felt optimistic when Trump announced last week that hed reached a deal with the factorys parent company, United Technologies, to preserve 1,100 of the Indianapolis jobs until the union leader heard from Carrier that only 730 of the production jobs would stay and 550 of his members would lose their livelihoods, after all.
At the Dec. 1 meeting, where Trump was supposed to lay out the details, Jones hoped he would explain himself.
But he got up there, Jones said Tuesday, and, for whatever reason, lied his a-- off.

“The essay I want to share with you is one the most excellent and far-reaching pieces of truth I have ever read. The writer is Carl Herman. Carl Herman is a National Board Certified Teacher of US Government, Economics, and History; also credentialed in Mathematics...he demands a clear vision of the current Mainstream Media hoax that is currently being played upon Alternative Media.
He gives examples of the true hoax of Mainstream Media, which has been played on the American people for a very long time. That is how Alternative Media was born .we had to find our way from the darkness of lies to Light of truth. The Internet is both a positive and negative entity, but Alternative Media has become the positive force of the Internet...”

I think one of the reasons people get so concerned about the tweets is it is sort of a way around the press. He doesn’t have to rely upon, uh, rely upon — this is the modern era, modern technology. He’s at the point where we don’t need you guys anymore.

Mr. Union Boss: “Your upset because you thought that you were going to be able to do as you pleased with all that money, power and importance....but then the American Worker, you know those people that work in your company decided to vote for Trump and there went your money, power and importance...”
To bad, so sad...and as far as ‘lying his ass off’...it is you that do that, that’s what your paid to do...
Did Chuckie as a union boss thug vote for Clinton?
Regardless of the histrionics and the posing and the manipulation, the proof of the pudding will be exactly how many jobs actually end up being saved and kept in this country.
I doubt a union official could do anything beyond presiding over the demise of the union jobs and the (more important) financial resolution of union cash and income magically making its way into their respective pockets.
“Journalists” are so freakin’ lazy...no one bothers to understand what is behind the story.
The jobs that are staying are the Carrier group that builds gas furnaces. One reason companies have been relocating offshore is to be close to their customers - how many gas furnaces to you suppose they sell in Mexico?
The jobs that are still on the block are a group that makes fan coils. Fan coils are used when there is no furnace in the house our building to distribute the air that is cooled by an outdoor a/c unit. In typical US homes with furnaces, the fan coil and blower used for heating is also used for cooling. So it is logical that since these products do not have a large base of US custoemrs, they might be more apt to move.
Every outsourcing decision is based on the company’s economics and financial models. Until Trump there was nothing on the other side to constrain such moves. Now there is. That is Yuge.
I just knew that the fake stream news media were going to be besides themselves about President Trump saving jobs that Obama could care less about.
I figured WaPo would lament all of the jobs that proud and deserving Mexican workers were gonna lose because the evil President Trump selfishly blackmailed Carrier into investing in jobs for undeserving Americans as a means of buying their votes for his re-election.
Once upon a time on a beach a man came upon a child throwing starfish washed up on shore into the ocean. The man told the child, “you will never be able to save all the starfish washed up on the beach”
The child responded, “no, but it is important to those that do make it back into the ocean.”
(apologies to the original)
The Washington Post is finished.
Probably just his own.
I'm surprised.
So instead of zero jobs for this union hack to lead he now has 800. He’s complaining about a difference in numbers not that jobs were saved. This is exactly what is wrong with the left and unions
How many paragraphs did it take the Washington Fake Post to reveal the connection to unions and thus the Democrats? I won’t give them a click, but the excerpt reads “I’m just a guy who works here, Trump lies”
Head of the Steel Workers Union at Carrier? Well, we know he lied HIS a$$ off because the Union is in the pocket of the Dems.
.....wasn’t chuck Jones a warner brothers animator/director?
the original Chuck Jones
Follow the dirty union $$$$.
All the unions official position was all in for Hillary. The IBEW were all in for Obama twice, while he destroyed their membership with a war on coal.
Who wrote this drek? Did it take three of them?
IIRC, before Trump came on the scene, the Union was negotiating severance packages for all their members. Trump came along and saved their jobs and this clown is trying to save face by criticizing Trump for only saving 700 jobs when their Union was ready to surrender all 1300.
“Another 80 jobs, which Trump SEEMED to include in his figure, were nonunion clerical and supervisory positions. “
Such good reporting of the facts. I wonder, did they bother to ask the lowlife who he and the rest of his thugs voted for? Unions make me sick
