Stat court should normally prevail in an elections matter. Also any recount involves state tax funds and state officers to carry out. Fed judge can’t appropriate state funds nor can he require state employees to perform work at his order. IMHO.

Clinton would have needed to win WI, MI and PA in the recounts.

Trump would have needed to retain only one of them to win.

Unless they can find another state, it is likely over. Some are trying to get a recount started in FL.

Are they still counting in MI or have they been stopped? I read threads that say both. Which is true?

From the Michigan Attorney General

The Michigan Court of Appeals agreed that Jill Stein is not an aggrieved candidate and the recount must stop

According to this it is not quite over yet. But perhaps it is only a formality before it is over.

The combined effect of the two rulings appears to set up further court proceedings in front of Goldsmith and the Michigan Republican Party has already filed for another federal hearing.

“The Michigan Court of Appeals ruled in our favor, determining that the petition for recount filed by Dr. Jill Stein should have been denied,” said Ronna Romney McDaniel, chairwoman of the Michigan Republican Party. “Dr. Stein is not an aggrieved candidate as she has no chance of winning the election in Michigan.”

Attorney General Bill Schuette said: "I’m grateful, and I know Michigan taxpayers agree, that the Michigan Court of Appeals has adhered to the rule of law," given that estimates of the cost of the recount are as high as $5 million -- more than $4 million more than the fee Stein was required to pay.

Andrea Bitely, a spokeswoman for Schuette, said the Michigan Court of Appeals said that “there is no conflict between” its order and the federal district court’s temporary restraining order, so the recount should end immediately.

"To ensure clarity for Michigan taxpayers, (and as recommended in the Sixth Circuit’s opinion issued this evening), the Attorney General is now filing in the federal district court a motion to dissolve the temporary restraining order," Bitely said.

This is going to get worse: Per Detroit News

LANSING — An attorney for Green Party candidate Jill Stein moved today to disqualify two Michigan Supreme Court justices from hearing cases related to the state presidential recount, saying both Chief Justice Robert Young Jr. and Justice Joan Larsen have been mentioned by President-elect Donald Trump as potential nominees to the U.S. Supreme Court, and their involvement in the case would create an appearance of impropriety.

Southfield attorney Mark Brewer said in a court filing that both Young and Larsen appeared on lists of names Trump said he was considering for filling a U.S. Supreme Court vacancy, and Trump has said the list of names is “definitive and I will chose only from it in picking future justices.”

Now they want to disqualify two S Judges? They have this all plotted out- makes you wonder, they are hitting back hard at every angle but yet, Jill hasn’t been able to win any position she has ran for which makes me think even more so, Hillary and Soros are behind this scheming. If we do X, then ALREADY have Y and Z planned and know the outcome.

From AG Schuette via Twitter: A.G. Bill Schuette ‏@SchuetteOnDuty 54m54 minutes ago COA said there is no conflict with its ruling & fed court, so recount should end now. For clarity, we are filing to dissolve the fed TRO. COA= Court of Appeals (which ordered the recount to end) So give it time, the fat lady has sung!

Hey I am HOPING she does a recount. I am hoping the recount demonstrates massive voter fraud.

Be careful of what you want here- we want ANY candidate to be able to recount any election right down to the individual precinct level.

This may be a head-fake by the dems- they do not want voter fraud to be discovered, so think carefully - how do THEY benefit from this? That is all they ever do anything for.

The recount has been stopped.
The recount continues
The recount has been stopped
The recount continues...

I'm very confused. Which is it?

I am really impressed with AG Schuette and MI GOP party. They aren't taking this assault on democracy and MI taxpayers lying down...they are so far much more aggressive than Trump's own lawyers have been.

AG Schuette should be appointed to be a federal judge. Ronna Romney McDaniel of the MI GOP party seems to be on the ball with this too.

I can't imagine how the people in these three states must feel. You don't have to be a Republican or Trump voter to be royally pissed that a nobody like Stein comes in, disrespects state law, spends so much taxpayer money, and smears state's election integrity with no evidence.

This was obvious, her own legal team was telling her this. This was never about winning an election, that ship has sailed and is halfway to The Orient. This recount effort was just something to get the troops out of their basements and back on the streets fired up.
