Just came across wires.... recount stopped by state appeals court!
Yeah, costs really escalate tomorrow.
That Stein bill reeks of ‘ex post facto’, but I’m not a lawyer. At least it’ll prevent this nonsense from happening again. Read that ya’ll are doing a voter id bill too.
It is done. But because of some legal issues, it probably won’t end until a few papers are filed.
She could file to state Supreme Court, but she’d lose.
I think what you may have read is an attempt by the liberals to disband voter ID here.
It amazes me how many freepers underestimate the evil and lust for power behind liberals.
“Most likely, the district judge will not dissolve his order until an appeal to the MI Supreme Court is handed down.”
So, Stein’s smart move is to not appeal to the MI Supreme Court unless the state asks Goldsmith to vacate his order. Until then, the recount can continue. When Goldsmith is asked to vacate, then she appeals to the state Supreme Court. She can play for time.
It’s the only ruling that makes sense, unless the protocol is to recount EVERY issue in EVERY election.
MI will pay a visit to Goldsmith tomorrow - at which point Stein’s lawyers will indicate that they will appeal today’s decision - to which Goldsmith will respond by refusing to vacate his order. Then Stein et al can drag their feet on their way to an appeal.
It is wise to be doubtful, but keep in mind that the court superior over his, the 6th Circuit, has said that the federal courts will defer to the state, when the state gets around to deciding the appeal (which it did, at just about the same time the 6th Circuit went on the record upholding 'precautionary recounting in violation of the state waiting period.'
He's s democrat, so it would be entirely within character for him to use his mistake as the reason counting must continue. Maybe he'll assert that the fate of "the law" demands his order be upheld.
Makes a much sense as his order does, in that his order amount to "elections without recounts are a violation of the constitution."
Thank you. Some common sense among the false cheering. Exactly the kind of thing I expect to happen.
As I said, if Goldsmith refuses the AG will file immediately to 6th circuit. They will respond promptly. I’d say by tomorrow night the counting will have stopped.
She can appeal... but during the appeal there would be no counting going on.
Our AG had some fun with that on local news.
And see? The guy is a monster, an Obama tentacle, a completely marxist **ick.
That's why I don't think this is over.
Election Fraud has became apparent in the Detrot precincts, with more ballots than the registered voters/ Voter ID is ongoing in Michigan. The issue at hand is that Schuette is striving for the counting to end as there is no way Jill would win - she is no an aggrieved candidate . Just someone whom wishes to make the voting process to viewed as hokey in MI. It sounds like it is over. BUT, the issue of two Supreme Court persons that are Trump’s choice, that is ticking off George Soros - the real tyrant that is funding all this political mess in WI< PA and MI

Hard to keep up, and even harder for a layman lie myself to understand, but I did read that the Michigan AG is petitioning the District Judge ASAP.
I think she will appeal to the Michigan SC in order to give Goldsmith a reason to not dissolve his “count till I say” ruling.
She won’t appeal to the SC right away - but will indicate as much to Goldsmith -who wont vacate his decision. Then they can drag their all they like.
The reason I said "read quickly" is I thought I had posted from a news site that I would need to alert on myself/unable to be quoted here, and was planning to do that. Then I went back and saw it was mlive. Which is ok.
Pretty funny, in fact I posted another link on it earlier in this thread. Vote totals don't match and Trump still won.
On election day here I volunteered to drive disabled folk to polls to vote and while I was waiting I spoke with the people running the places. They said never before had they seen this kind of turnout, they were having to find registrations for people who had not voted for 10-20 years.
But then that's the NRA for ya. They did their job.
No one loves their guns as much as northern Michiganders.
They can drag this out forever, it seems.
Cool. Nice job.
Elections run by the government represent an inherent conflict of interest.
