Green Party drops PA case, plans to go federal
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | December 3, 2016 | Marc Levy / Associated Press

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Green Party-backed voters dropped a court case Saturday night that had sought to force a statewide recount of Pennsylvania’s Nov. 8 presidential election, won by Republican Donald Trump, in what Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein had framed as an effort to explore whether voting machines and systems had been hacked and the election result manipulated.

But later Saturday night, the party announced it’ll go to federal court instead. A statement from the lead lawyer for the recount campaign says it’ll seek an emergency federal court order for the recount. It says barriers to a recount in Pennsylvania are pervasive and the state court system isn’t equipped to address them.

Shouldn’t you be required to show just cause in asking for a recount instead of going on a fishing expedition?

They’re asking for the recount because they didn’t like the results, not because they have any justification for suspecting the machines were hacked.

In other words, it’s against PA law and we want the Feds to force them to do it anyway.

The people being a pain in the butt now are the same people who think showing your ID to vote is traumatic and unfair.

If a feral judge overrides PA on this, that judge is actively breaking PA law.

Then what are the barriers that she claims to exist?

Pennsylvania law.

Then, with all due respect, that would mean that the judge in Wisconsin would have given everything Stein wanted in that instance (full hand recount statewide) and that the other one in Montgomery County, PA would have caved totally to Stein as well.

With liberal judges, the law does not matter.

There are some place they won't tread because it would ruin any facade they hope to keep. Trump's team will no doubt be the superior one and it would be even worse than a "John Roberts" for one to intrude upon PA law like this - they also hate being overturned by higher courts for what is already a losing enterprise.

If they were serious about validating the election they would sue to examine the machines, not recount the votes.

In many cases a provisional voter is one who is legally registered to vote but goes to the wrong precinct and therefore doesn’t show up in those voter records. They don’t have to visit every one of these people to verify where they live. They just take a ballot from a person who lives in Precinct A and voted in Precinct B, and verify that they are legally registered in Precinct A.

A lot of youngsters on this forum have not learned this yet. Wait to see the incredibly ridiculous reason the fed judge will find to count the votes. It doesn’t matter how great Trump’s lawyers are.

Only hope is to pray. That’s what worked election day; it will work again.

Do the math, genius. 1.5 million residents is exactly 4.17 times 360K. I was being generous and said Philly should be producing around 2500 votes which could not be counted on election day. We typically produced a little over 100 in your average 30% turnout election, so I am being generous by more than a factor of five.

Most absentee votes are counted on election day by precinct election boards. They are supposed to be in the Friday before the Tuesday election so they can be delivered to each election judge to be canvassed after the machine totals are tabulated. We use a group of at least three to do that with representation from both major parts-- one opens and reads, one watches and one tabulates. The results are turned in with the machine counts the same night. The election judge or other designated person actually drives them over to the court house.

Any absentees which do not arrive in time for the precinct count must be verified by the county canvassing board along with each provisional ballot. You can actually go to this site and see a breakdown of ballots counted in the county totals and on the precinct level on election day. There were a total of 316 ballots which were not tabulated by precinct on election day (roughly 3 times the 100 figure which I stated because there was roughly 3 times the turnout).

So, if you don't make totally weird assumptions, the Philadelphia total should be 4.17 x 316 or 1,317. Yes, I know. Maybe they have worse mail service than we do, or a greater proportion of people serving in the military overseas or just a lot more turnout than our measly 75%.

“We need to stay in ‘cold anger’ mode. Cold anger strengthens our resolve. Hot anger is what they are hoping for.”

What we need to do is stop saying, “well if they are doing this here, we should also be looking at Nevada, California, etc.) We should be keeping our powder dry and our mouths shut and after the inauguration, have the DOJ set up a special unit to investigate, using Jill Stein as the example as to why we need voter reform.

Throw the rats crap back in their faces, but do it in a way that when the MSM starts to complain, you use their words against them.
