One person, a male faculty member, has been fatally stabbed on the USC campus and a suspect is in custody.
The victim is a man, approximately 25 years old, says Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Just after 4:30 p.m., firefighter paramedics responded to a reported stabbing on the 3600 block of McClintock Avenue, located on campus near the Seeley G. Mudd building and the schools running track.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Stewart said. No other injuries have been reported.
USCs college newspaper The Daily Trojan reported on Twitter that police locked down the Seeley G. Mudd building and students were advised to stay away from the area.
An officer from the LAPDs Southwest community station confirmed officers were investigating a homicide and had at least one suspect in custody.
In a separate incident, a male suspect who was reported to have been acting aggressively sprayed a woman with a fire extinguisher inside the Doheny Library at USC. The library was evacuated, but the incident is unrelated to the fatal stabbing at the campus Seeley G. Mudd building, according to the Daily Trojan.
the stabbing “intifada” continues...
$1 says that's a premature bit of 'reporting'.

In my six years of college and law school (1961-1967) at a major mid-western state university nothing like this ever happened, especially to a young faculty member.
USS is in a bad neighborhood.
Town vs. gown? USC has a pretty campus, but unless things have changed in recent years, it is not in a good neighborhood.
Muslum?
Homo?
Democrat?
Yeah, the hood sucks . It’s almost like USC needs to fence itself in its that bad
Two incidences. One a fire extinguisher and the other a fatal stabbing. Can’t find any further details which makes one wonder what they’re covering up.
What the heck is going on with colleges these days?
Why couldn’t this faculty member pull out his gun.....oh, never mind. Just another unpreventable incident!
Like Columbia does in Morningside Heights.

Sudden “finals failure” syndrome
I was in college in the late 70s. There was never a stabbing or shooting or bombs or anything. Sure, there were fights between drunks. There was one rape off campus and there were likely more but I never heard of any and I knew more than most of what went on around campus. The blacks a black organization but there wasn’t any racism and blacks and white treated each other the same. Everyone was family and respectful. The only ones who didn’t interact with everyone else were the hateful Iranians who showed up Fall of 78. College was the best time of my life but glad I graduated that Spring because even in my innocent naivety, something wasn’t right with them.
There's no "almost" about it.
