I was in college in the late 70s. There was never a stabbing or shooting or bombs or anything. Sure, there were fights between drunks. There was one rape off campus and there were likely more but I never heard of any and I knew more than most of what went on around campus. The blacks a black organization but there wasn’t any racism and blacks and white treated each other the same. Everyone was family and respectful. The only ones who didn’t interact with everyone else were the hateful Iranians who showed up Fall of 78. College was the best time of my life but glad I graduated that Spring because even in my innocent naivety, something wasn’t right with them.
