One person, a male faculty member, has been fatally stabbed on the USC campus and a suspect is in custody.
The victim is a man, approximately 25 years old, says Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Just after 4:30 p.m., firefighter paramedics responded to a reported stabbing on the 3600 block of McClintock Avenue, located on campus near the Seeley G. Mudd building and the schools running track.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Stewart said. No other injuries have been reported.
USCs college newspaper The Daily Trojan reported on Twitter that police locked down the Seeley G. Mudd building and students were advised to stay away from the area.
An officer from the LAPDs Southwest community station confirmed officers were investigating a homicide and had at least one suspect in custody.
In a separate incident, a male suspect who was reported to have been acting aggressively sprayed a woman with a fire extinguisher inside the Doheny Library at USC. The library was evacuated, but the incident is unrelated to the fatal stabbing at the campus Seeley G. Mudd building, according to the Daily Trojan.
I went to USC back during the Watts riots. The first semester after the Watts riots, there were 27 rapes of white girls by local black men and there were 2 white fraternity men stabbed to death by black men. My fraternity house was torched by rampaging black people. The black people burned and looted all of south central Los Angeles until the National Guard arrived in force and encircled the area. This racial hatred did not happen because white people hated black people, it happened because we have allowed activists to incite hatred of white people by black people...and for the last 8 years, the worst agitators have been Obama and Eric Holder. Learn a little bit about true history and you will see where all this recent racist bullshiit comes from!

There were tanks at Exposition & Figueroa. Knowing that, I started there anyway a year later in the Fall of ‘66. Fight on!
He sounds like a fascinating guy. What a huge waste.
I remember when some UCLA students air bombed the Tommy Trojan statue one night...ah those days of fraternity parties and lovely sorority girls needing so much love...Red Mountain wine and all of us dancing in boxer shorts before bedding each other....sigh....
Be ironic if they asked for a wall.
In 1965 SC deserved to go to the Rose Bowl but UCLA won the right regardless (back then it was voted on). In '66, my freshman year, UCLA deserved to go but SC got the nod. The guy across the hall in Trojan Hall, a freshman halfback on the football team, had a Chevelle convertible and some huge speakers and proposed to gloat by driving around Westwood High playing "Fight On!" He invited me and a Chicago swimmer to accompany him. I declined but the swimmer couldn't resist.
They drove fraternity row and the campus with Fight On! blaring. They parked outside the Engineering building just as the Friday exams let out--those students couldn't catch that Chevelle, so they poured out onto the nearby San Diego Freeway and stopped traffic, looking for USC decals--they turned those cars over (you can look it up).
Meanwhile, my idiotic friends returned to the frats, which were awaiting them. The swimmer was stripped, chained to a flagpole, and slathered with mayonnaise. The halfback was stripped and painted blue and gold from head to foot. Later, he sued and collected $30,000.
Those, indeed, were the days....
FWIW, today is the 1 Year Anniversary of Obama’s ISIS inspired attack in San Bernardino.
San Bernardino anniversary. May have to wait for more information but a certain group is partial to anniversaries.
If the killer’s name is Mohammed, don’t let the FBI get involved. They’ll not determine it to be ISIS-inspired for another 6 months!
Name of perp?
“Muslum?
Homo?
Democrat?”
You accidentally typed question marks instead of commas. (g)
“The halfback was stripped and painted blue and gold from head to foot.”
Most excellent story.
The young researcher was probably a new Catholic and took the name Bosco as his baptismal name. Murdered. South Central. Brutal area. The parents are probably shocked, upset, shocked, mad, and crushed.
I had to laugh when reading your post. My family was so divided between UCLA and USC and it was during the 1960's, interesting times. It brought back so many memories.
This man got his PhD in 1997. He’s therefore in his mid 40s, not mid 20s.
How many professors by that name are there?
Now comes the lengthy process of determining of “why he did it” and an investigation of his personal history and a comparison with the act of terrorism on the OSU campus. Anyone wants to bet if the guy is a Lutheran or Calvinist?
I see your bet and raise you a Zwinglian.
