President-elect Donald Trump said he had narrowed his choices for a potential Supreme Court nominee to “three or four” candidates and that a decision would be coming “pretty soon,” Politico reports.

Said Trump: “They are terrific people, highly respected, brilliant people and we’ll be announcing that pretty soon too.”

“Frankly I’d rather he wait until January. The current president has a pick already. We’re better off just ignoring the issue for a month and a half.”

I’d tend to agree but you and I don’t know all the facts, such as perhaps the Congress is looking to get the paperwork together, including background checks, and need the decision now.

I’m feeling great that we have such an engaged leader in Trump. He won’t be perfect but he’ll be better than anything in the past 30 years and far better than I could do myself.

“4 Letters: C R U Z”

Not a chance! He’s not even on Trump’s list. He needs to move back to Cuba and run for “commandente” there! Anything to get that lying POS out of this country permanently! As for Sarah, she’s done too!

“Don’t overlook Kagan.”

How can you overlook that Capo? She looks like she just “hoovered” an entire brisket! I always marvel at how they are able to get her robes from “Achmed the Tentmaker!”

Yes. Exactly. Shock and awe them on day one. Nominate a SCOTUS justice who is to the right of Atilla the Hun. Rescind every executive order imaginable. Nominate Nigel Farage as SoS. Invite Wilders over for lunch and Frauke Petry over for dinner. Announce that Gitmo will be doubled in size and gallows are being installed to save on euthanasia chemicals. Do it all at once and let the libtards pick their battles.

Oh, my, yes. I can’t believe I did that.

It was probably PTSD. You were unconsciously blocking it out.

Records and rhetoric matter, of trump and Cruz, name the one who thinks govt should be involved in healthcare. Well not his healthcare mind you, just yours Name the one who had a plan to repeal Obamacare. Last chance, name the one who uses the phrase, settled law.

Agreed.

He may want credit for naming someone perceived to be very conservative as an offset and distraction for going with Romney for SoS.

But just a guess.

Yes—I think Sykes would be the best choice for Trump on several levels.

That’s a valid concern, but 58 isn’t that old. Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg was older than that when she was appointed and she’s still there.

No, I can’t - only the voters can do so. And only if the question is placed before them in an up-or down way. Which will happen if the Democrats successfully filibuster a nominee from Trump’s list.

Republicans running for the 25 Senate seats the Democrats have to defend in 2018 - will take that case to their states’ voters. That argument just might sell in the ten states Trump won last month. And since it won’t be a presidential year, the Dems might have a worse turnout issue than they did this year, across the board.

A lot will depend on the implementation and success of Trump’s economic agenda, of course . . .

The reality is that Republicans need to pick up several Senate seats in ’18 or they will be on the defensive trying to hold the Senate while defending most of the seats at risk in subsequent years.
