Actually surprised this is the first time. While the history of Santa Claus is white, I don't have a problem with this at all. The folklore is a fun fairy tale for kids. An innocuous way to foster togetherness.

I remember an episode of the Dianne Carrol show Julia when I was a kid where the white kid and black kid were arguing.

White kid would say, Santa Claus is white.

Black kid would say, Santa. Claus is black.

That’s cause each kne had gone to stores with either a mainly white or black clientele with a Santa Claus of the corresponding demographic.

That was 1968 or so.

I have no problems with a black, oriental, or Indian Santa. Anyone who does should re-examine their “Sanity Clause”.

Pawnee artist Brummett Echohawk, years ago wrote of an Indian school in Oklahoma who had Santa visit the kids. When the man in the red suit showed up the children ran away in terror of him!
The School board, composed of people with COMMON SENSE realized they need a Santa the children could relate to, so an INDIAN Santa came dressed in buckskins and beads,and feathers with his bag of toys. The children LOVED it!
