Hillary supporter, 'deceptive pro-amnesty lawmaker,' D.C. insiders among president-elect's top choices.
Its often said personnel is policy when it comes to an incoming presidents Cabinet selections, and thats what has some of Donald Trumps most fervent supporters asking, Why THESE people?
In fact, Americans on both the left and right of the political aisle are expressing concern over the president-elects recent choices for key positions in his administration.
On Wednesday came word that Vice-President-elect Mike Pence was meeting with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, an outspoken Trump critic. In October, Rice called for Trump to end his bid. Donald Trump should not be president. He should withdraw, she wrote in a Facebook post following release of a decade-old video of Trump having a lewd conversation about women. Rice even insisted Trump replace himself with someone who has the dignity and stature to run for the highest office in the greatest democracy on earth. In July, Rice declined to attend the Republican National Convention. The Trump team has not indicated whether it is considering Rice for a Cabinet post.
Also Wednesday, the New York Times reported Trump may be considering professional wrestling magnate Linda McMahon for the Small Business Administration. McMahon developed World Wresting Entertainment, or WWE, with her husband, Vince McMahon. Upon leaving Trump Tower Wednesday, McMahon told reporters, The meeting went great. It was really nice to be up, and I was honored to be asked to come in. Anytime I think the president-elect of the United States asks you to come in for a conversation, youre happy to do that. We talked about business and entrepreneurs and creating jobs, and we talked about S.B.A.

If true, I’m not fully surprised or fully concerned. Donald knows he cannot or at least should not shut out all of the Old Guard GOP. If one looks closely and listens, there may be a few who can work with us. I don’t believe once a #NeverTrumper, always a #NeverTrumper. Didn’t we criticize Hillary for calling us ‘irredeemable’? A big tent is better and more durable than a tiny bubble.
I did not say I wanted Condi in Trump’s admin, I just meant I was hoping she will come around and change her opinion about Trump, realizing she was basing it on incorrect info.
There is no one that knows what goes on with anyone Trump meets with except Trump and the invitee...
Trump has all the media speculating, guessing, making sh!t up and outright lying...The media don’t know what to do, say, or how to act....
Trump is doing exactly what he has intended to do...Keep the media off balance and have the whole country, if not the whole world, wondering what is he going to do next...
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!
DJT knows what he is doing. As for the rest of us, whether we agree or disagree, will still be delighted with the final outcome of his choices when it all irons out.
The man is NOT an ordinary politician. He is a businessman who is known world wide for his ‘smarts’ and strategy.
He loves our country, our veterans, and all Americans.
He will continue to get full support from this direction until he proves to be lacking.
I actually want to him talk to Barney Frank (No, I don’t want him to follow Frank, I want him to understand his perspective of the Dodd-Frank bill). Talking and understanding both sides of an argument is not capitulating. I don’t know when that became the thought process of people of all political persuasions.
Do not forget Canadian Cruz was taken up to Trump Tower...early on. Cruz has been very, very, quiet since. Course Levin went off the rails after that meeting, so we got an idea of how the meeting went.
Folks, when it comes to Trump we’ve never seen someone like this in the White House. This will call for a whole new set of guidelines when it comes to criticism.
No, I do not mean that he gets a pass when policy starts to go South. What I mean is, we have to let that policy go South before we complain. Why?
The Last Republican president we had, was not a man to push strong Conservatism. His management style, if you could call it that, was nothing like Trump’s. He wouldn’t defend himself or our ideals. Trump will do both, with vigor.
Did Bush have a super agenda he was going to push, or was he sort of a marginal good guy what was going to go along to get along, in a way..., but not fully. I admit that.
You see, because of the Bush/Gore fight for the office in Florida, Bush felt compelled to give in a bit, offer concessions, and be sensitive to the Democrat’s feelings.
Hey, I know. It was a mistake. Live and learn. The fact is, Bush wasn’t a full on alpha male. We’ve talked about this time and again. He just wasn’t.
So Bush was nothing like Trump.
Trump is a CEO’s CEO. The man has drive Bush never had. He’s willing to say what he wants. He’s willing to work to achieve it. He’s willing to fight for it.
Trump is not a politician. He has been a CEO for close to 40 years. He operates like one. It is who he is. It’s his nature.
He sets a goal and strives to achieve it. He doesn’t look at Rs and Ds like we do. He looks for administrators. He looks for people who can take on his agenda and drive it forward.
So the danger of a swishy moderate in a Bush administration, isn’t the same as a swishy moderate in Trump’s.
Bush seemed to be led around by the nose at times, by his swishy moderates. Trump will not be.
Trump has his agenda. He will set the goal. He will be checking to see how it’s coming along, and if it isn’t the swishy moderate will be drop kicked to Baltimore. A new administrator will be hired, one that will know what is expected or else.
This isn’t your, your father, or your grandfather’s type of President.
This guy isn’t going to play by the old playbook. It’s result he wants, and he doesn’t care if it’s a Mitt Romney, as long as his goal is achieved.
How do you fault a guy like this, before he starts to falter? You can’t.
We have to give him the freedom to do things his way, and then judge by his deeds, achievements.
I know this is taxing, because I myself am having to check myself using my old standards of judging if danger is just ahead.
I wouldn’t let Romney anywhere near an administration of mine. Trump however may, and if he does, Romney will do exactly as asked. I believe this.
Trump comes in on time and under budget. It’s his hallmark. Anyone who can’t live by this motto of Trump’s, is in for a big surprise.
So we wait. We watch. We learn along with the best of them.
Trump is a different kind of animal.
He doesn’t need to be tamed. He’s going to break the wild horse that is Washington, and we’ll get to stand around the corral and watch him do it.
We won’t tell him why to do it, when to do it, or how to do it. He knows.
This is going to be worth many times the price of admission folks.
Be patient. I know it’s hard. It is for me too.
“It is? All I read is some ankle-biter at WND getting all wee-weed up. Give him a pacifier and put him to bed.”
That is how I read it.
+2 on your comments DoughtOne. I agree, Trump isn’t a typical politician. I can wait and see what happens.
Good analysis. Trump is indeed different from every President before him. This is a whole new ball game.
That’s just “God Bless America” in handbell music.
Thanks Inyo-Mono. Appreciate it.
Trump is Trump. That sounds trite, but it is a fact. How Trump got to be where he is in his field takes savvy and creative thinking. I am not on par with Trump in business acumen. I leave the experts in their fields do what they do. Whoever Trump chooses, I am sure that he will make it clear to them what he wants, and it’ll be up to them to achieve the goals that the Boss sets. If they don’t, well....there is the line spoken many times: “You’re fired”.
Thank you Parley Baer. I appreciate it.
Yes, we’re on the same page.
I never realized June 8th, 2015 would be a day I’d never forget.
Oops, looks like I already did forget.
It was June 16th, 2015.
Could have sworn it was the 8th or maybe 9th.
Take care...
What about Corker, the ass who facilitated Iran’s nuclear deal?
I wouldn’t let him into my house during a blizzard. He made sure America was much less safe from soon to be nuclear armed Islamic fascists.
In time, those who opposed him will come around. They will realize that it is in their best interests, as well as the country's, to assist and to follow the agenda.
This will, I believe, be a spectacular next 4 to 8 years as the old paradigms will be obliterated and a new and more invigorating era is birthed.
I will enjoy it.
Mnuchin was a Hillary donor in ‘08. He’s at least considering the pro-amnesty McCaul, and perhaps others. Ross is a crony capitalist.
A few picks are insiders.
