Like many Americans, HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines attend a church where the pastor thinks homosexual behavior is a sin.
And somehow thats news.
BuzzFeed printed the original story, headlined Chip And Joanna Gaines Church Is Firmly Against Same-Sex Marriage. From there it was picked up by Cosmopolitan, Us Weekly, and my favorite, Jezebel.
Why?
Now to be clear, the Gaineses arent even quoted in the original BuzzFeed story. We have no idea what they personally think about same-sex marriage. In fact, a spokesperson for the Antioch Community Church where the Gaineses attend, specifically tells BuzzFeed she could not speak for Chip and Joanna Gaines on same-sex marriage.
So we dont know for sure what the Gaineses beliefs are on same-sex marriage. (And incidentally, this attitude its news that something like a pastor at a Christian church preaching that same-sex marriage isnt OK is exactly the kind of out-of-touchness that helped create a climate where Donald Trump could become president.) But heres the clincher: The couple, whose popular HGTV show is called Fixer Upper, has fans that may not agree with their views on same-sex marriage!

lol thanks, I’ll pass
Yeah, I totally misheard the joke, it’s in post 49.
I’ve slept since then . . (Thats my excuse and I’m sticking to it) lol
Joanna’s mama is Asian.
Yup. Just hawt. And a precious woman. Check out their #iamsecond video.
So much for what you think of your wife’s opinions....you might want to ask yourself why it is she likes the show and contrast that with your own attitudes...
If I happen to be watching House Hunters or other 'similar' shows, and the same sex $hit gets promoted, I turn it off.
I am especially not into watching 'dung punchers'.
Anyone notice how many same sex couples are on Househunters? Makes me think 10-25% of the world is gay.
When my wife and I first started watching it in the 90s, it was a new channel. They always called themselves Home and Garden because they actually had a lot of gardening shows. They seldom use their complete name any longer because there is almost no gardening. It's like how A&E used to be Arts and Entertainment.
Homowood and the old media have made it some kind of virtue to worship the sodomites. These perverts are worthy of an adoring public, no exceptions.
I most certainly do not give a schit what the gays, lesbians, trannies and other sexual deviates think, want, say, demand or protest for...they are not in my world of being, so they can all go to hell, which is where they belong and where they will end up................
Her mother is Korean. She’s often seen working inside Magnolia Market. Joanna does look like she’s American Indian; but she’s not.
BURN THE WITCHES, umm CHRISTIANS!
Seems to be loving and accepting message from the Media whoring LGBTVQRSTUVWXYZ NGO freaks.
Who are they?
They just don’t learn.
“Then Buzzfeed should watch House Hunters. Every other show has a same sex couple.”
Pretty much EVERY show on HGTV has the seemingly obligatory poof couple in it. And a chocolate-vanilla swirl cone couple too. No thanks. I stopped watching the channel altogether.
Then I got rid of cable earlier this year. I won’t pay to have leftist agendas forced on me.
She is 1/2 Japanese. Her moms side. Mentioned it one episode. In another you see her Mom eating at a family dinner. She might be 1/4. Can’t remember, but like you, I thought she was Native American.
I love the Gaines and their show but am not surprised by this. If you don’t believe the way those in darkness think you should you’ll suffer for it. Religious liberty is and has been under attack for years. Hopefully things will change.....soon!
This is their new book. They are a wonderful Christian couple. They dont talk about it all the time but try to live it out in how they treat their clients. (She is 1/2 Korean by the way.) They are both very talented and hard working, an all American couple. The show is very down to earth and uplifting, not like a lot of the super pretentious snobby HGTV shows. They aim to help real families turn classic, character filled but sometimes run down homes into real homes that are beautiful, livable and affordable (NOT necessarily fashionable or “upscale”.) And they are sweet and it’s a lot of fun to watch them interact with each other and their clients. They are well loved here in Texas.
No. Joanna’s father is of Lebanese/German descent and her mother is Korean. She did play Pochahantus once in a school play.
I’ve put sliding barn doors in every doorway in my house....
