I fear for the lives of those persons that attempt such a thing (and especially I fear for the lives for those that are bankrolling it), if they are ‘successful’ in overthrowing the election results that is.

I am peaceful and have no plans other than to watch what may come. I am trusting the judiciary to slap this garbage right out of court. We will see.
Get rid of the electoral college and only a few states matter. The remaining states will not. This is the road to civil war.

No, the candidate still gets to pick the electors. The election tells you which candidate gets to pick them.
At least now, if the candidate decides to murder his entire family on live TV after being elected, we have a way for to get avoid putting him in office.
I agree with the lawyers who say the electors should not be forced to pick their state’s winning candidate. That clearly goes against the founders’ intent and turns the electors into mere figureheads.

I’m no lawyer, but ‘Ray v. Blair’ seems to only address the issue of whether electors can be forced to take a pledge. It doesn’t address the ‘faithless elector’ case.
