Since Election Day, President-elect Donald J. Trump has proposed a U-turn in American diplomatic relations with Cuba, boasted about negotiations with a major manufacturer, trumpeted false claims about millions of illegal votes and hinted that he might upend current free speech laws by banning flag burning.
All in 140 characters or less.
As news organizations grapple with covering a commander in chief unlike any other, Mr. Trumps Twitter account a bully pulpit, propaganda weapon and attention magnet all rolled into one has quickly emerged as a fresh journalistic challenge and a source of lively debate.
How to cover a presidents pronouncements when they are both provocative and maddeningly vague? Does an early-morning tweet amount to a planned shift in American policy? Should news outlets, as some readers argue, ignore clearly untrue tweets, rather than amplify falsehoods further?

What if Twitter cancels his account?...................
Since the Democrat media can’t figure it out, they are unarmed in this battle of wits with President Elect Trump. Unfortunately for them, the people will accept this direct communication with the president as being “news,” no matter what these cry babies say. It’s like spitting into the wind.
[is it really that much different than FDRs fireside chats over the radio?]
No doubt,he’ll do those too. Who knows, TRUMP may even put a WEBCAM in the OVAL OFFICE!
DJT doesn’t like, doesn’t need the MSM and they can’t stand it.
2016 has been quite a year of change.
I don’t have a Twitter account. I hate the entire social media thing. But wth Trump as president, I may go ahead and open an account so I can get what he says unfiltered.
It’s not ANY different. In reality what they actually object to is not being able to manipulate and misstate what he says.
They really are not very bright, apparently. If he president utters a single sentence publicly, it is news. This includes spoken or written.
Frankly, a prudent investor would invest in Twitter. Trump’s presidency will give it much more credibility.
TWITTER: The president tells you what he wants to tell you.
DINOSAUR MEDIA: Middle man asks crafty questions to elicit
predicted responses, then edits it, and
tells it to you in a way they want you to
hear it in a certain way to fit their
agenda and shape your thinking.
DONALD J. TRUMP!! f#ckin aay.
“I read the tweets myself.”
If you only do that, then NYT would never be able to let you know that whenever he says something unleft, it’s not just a “claim”, but a “false claim”. How are you supposed to have an opinion without their help?
“By MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM and SYDNEY EMBERNOV”
Why does it always take 2 or more knuckleheads to write tripe like this?
I saw one person string together something like twenty consecutive tweets, all connected with ellipses, to make a very coherent statement.
I like the look on her face when she asked him about tweeting...and he said...we'll see....like he didn't know. When will the media learn??
Hope a few of these media prostitutes (male and female) go out of business.
Trump tweets about illegal immigrants and suddenly illegal immigrants are in the news(much to the consternation of the MSM) .
Trump tweets about flag burning and suddenly flag burning is in the news (much to the consternation of the MSM).
etc.
etc.
Do I detect a pattern here?
“trumpeted false claims about millions of illegal votes”
I hope there is some serious investigation done to prove the media idiots wrong on this.
Yes a US Presdient sending out a tweet that IS News.
Claims of “hate crimes” based on hearsay and rumor from radical Leftist political action groups is NOT News.
NY Times, you need to send you editors and reporters back to high school Journalism class since they seem completely perfectly perplexed on the very basic principals of “Journalism”
And how much would that lawsuit cost them?
you don’t need a twitter account to read his tweets.
So much win....
He can start his own “Twitter”
I think it’s called....”Baiting”.
