The smog is not nearly as bad as it was in the 60s.
There are only a very few really bad days each year. Some years there are none.
It’s hard to believe, but the gas mixtures and newer cars on the roads helped to bring our air a long way toward normal.
With this many people around Los Angeles, you’re not going to have perfection, but it’s seldom that I see a car throwing a big plume of smoke into the air. Used to see it all the time.
Strangely enough, the Ninth Circuit court has actually gotten a few things right over the last few years. I have had to do a double take a few times.
The illegal problem was and will continue to Washington, D.C. based enforcement issue. If Trump implements half the plan he suggested, things will be much better in the short term. Getting rid of the gang members would be a real boon to communities. I hope he goes RICO on the gangs, and puts an end to them.
Look at Chicago for instance. Put a few thousand of these drive-by jerks in prison until the 22nd century.
Unions are a real problem here. They skew issues like true Democrats. It’s shocking to see their take on things.
Strangely enough, places that vote for union membership more often than not vote no. Unions are not universally adored here.
I appreciate your comments. I know where you are coming from.
My big point has been to talk about people who moved out of the state. They were good people, and when they left, the basically handed the state to the Left decades ago.
I wish they would have stayed to fight with us.
I chose to take my family out of there...Sold our house..and moved.
I loved the Calif. of old....but could not live there anymore.
Hard to believe Riverside....is less smoggy. Hope you are right...
I grew up in OC....went to RVSD...job related.
When my kids would come in the house complaining of hardness to breathe...I knew this wasn't going to stand.
When I couldn't see the Milky Way....or the North Star...I knew something was wrong.
When I saw friends lose their job's to illegal aliens...I chose to plan my exit.
I don't regret it....
Actually, they seem to have helped achieve the goal.
I've seen days in La Canada, CA, where you could look across the street and see smog, it was that thick.
Today I can look from Glendale South and see the Ocean. When I can't, it's often times because of inland beach flow air.
I can frequently take photos from Glendale of aircraft taking off from LAX.
Check this out:
It is a composite photo. It took about ten photos to make this one photo.
I have a 50 times zoom camera. On a clear day I took a photo down a very thin groove to the ocean off my back balcony. This was near Glendale College.
The ocean part, starts around 30 plus miles away, and probably goes for another ten or so.
Whether that is in fact the ocean I don't know, but I do know that aircraft started out across the Pacific Ocean, from LAX. That should tell us what the approximate distance was. We may be seeing sun reflecting off of clouds or fog. We may be seeing a reflection off the ocean.
Every day is not this crisp. I don't want to mislead you. For various reasons days this clear are not that frequent, due to onshore fox, some smog, and a mixture of both, but that horizon line next to the water is clearly visible on many days each year. That's rather amazing. There's no way we would have seen a day like this back in the 60s or 70s.
Well, on a very windy day maybe. At any rate, enjoy.
The photo is huge. Right click view if you like. I warned you.
I’m glad you like it.............
W.T.F. ?
I don’t really like what the Leftists have done to the place.
I recognize California for the potential is has.
It’s one of the most amazing territories on earth.
No ifs, ands or abuts about it!
