Madison Green Party Candidate Jill Stein will get a court hearing Tuesday afternoon in her effort to require all Wisconsin counties to recount the presidential votes by hand.
Also Tuesday, Stein and other supporters of a recall will have to come with the $3.5 million to pay for it to ensure it moves forward on Thursday. Stein, who drew more votes in Wisconsin than Democrat Hillary Clinton's losing margin in this state to Republican President-elect Donald Trump, criticized the cost of the recall Tuesday but said she would pay.
State officials initially estimated the cost of the recall at roughly $1 million but increased the amount after counties gave the state their own estimates of what it would cost in their jurisdictions.
"We stand by our commitment to verify that the vote in Wisconsin was accurate and secure and this exorbitant cost will not deter us. While this excessive fee places an undue burden on our efforts, we are committed to paying this cost in order to ensure that the voting in Wisconsin was accurate," she said in a statement.

Actually under Wisconsin law she does have a standing as a candidate. She has to pay for a recount. That is the law. She can request a hand recount which she did which is law. They don’t have to grant that which they didn’t which is law. She now has the right to appeal which she did which is law.
I thought WI already denied the hand recount. Do I have this wrong?
That’s probably more like it if she does get some dippy Dane County judge to grant a hand recount, because the state law is clear - the petitioner has to pay the entire cost of the recount under these circumstances. The $3.5M was for a machine recount.
The only reason they’re pushing for a hand count is to cause further disruption and delay. Soros.
You are correct.
Thew Board of Elections denied. Now she’s going to court.
Hillary's plan, using the useful idiot Stein, is to start chipping away at Trump's electoral votes and litigate her way into the White House.
There's a reason why there has not been a case of a state's electoral votes getting "removed" since the days when electors traveled on horseback.
..Did we say $3.5 million?
And you thought it would be $1 million....
What’s the problem? Liberals gleefully pay billions in cost overruns on government contracts without whining? She knows it’s money down a rathole.
Thanks.
Twit...This is not going to end well for her.
Will Trump have lawyers there representing our side?
I’m thinking there should also be some ‘carbon offset ‘ fees - let’s see the Greens contest that line item.
WTF!
Horse hockey, Jill; you are just a stooge. You make even Shemp look good.
I'm assuming the recount isn't done by the deadline, and WI can't certify, so no WI electors get to vote.
What a precedent that would set - for $3 Million I can rob a whole state of their right to vote!
Is this how we "make every vote count"?
I am just telling you what the rules are in Wisconsin. There is no stipulation in the law that says if you might win then you can request a recount. It just says that any candidate who wants a recount and can pay for it can request one by a certain date which she did. That is all it says. Don’t shoot the messenger. You can find it online and read it yourself. If you think she’s doing this in order to get herself to the White House you have missed the entire point of her futile exercise.
I said it many months ago, and I'll say it again. Soros (and offspring) cannot be dead soon enough.
Wisconsin will claim that they can’t work that fast. The court will say charge $10 million for overtime. Stein will withdraw.
