Understanding Colin Kaepernick
Powerline ^ | 28 Nov 2016 | Paul Mirengoff

Those who say that Colin Kaepernick is a patriot acting in the finest tradition of American dissent thoroughly misunderstand the outspoken quarterback. This view was probably a stretch back when Kaepernick was simply disrespecting America by kneeling during the National Anthem.

Now, the view is untenable. Two recent developments show that Kaepernick’s behavior falls within the worst tradition of American dissent — the tradition of the totalitarian-sympathizing far left.

Consider first Kaepernick’s response to Fidel Castro’s death. As John reported here, Kaepernick took a “mixed” view of the bloodthirsty tyrant:

I agree with [Castro’s] investment in education. I also agree with the investment in free universal health care, as well as the involvement with him in helping end apartheid in South Africa. I would hope that everyone believes those things are good things. Trying to push the false narrative that I was a supporter of the oppressive things that he did is just not true

Nonsense. Not voting for Hillary Clinton is exactly what one would expect from a serious far leftist. From Kaepernick’s perspective, to vote for Clinton over Donald Trump would be, in the words of a communist acquaintance of mine during the late 1960s, to “play good imperialist, bad imperialist.”

If you truly believe that American democracy is a hoax and that there is no real difference between Democrats and Republicans, you are either the ultimate cynic or the captive of an extreme anti-American ideology.

Colin Kaepernick is not a cynic.

I don’t want to understand him. It’s simple.

He’s trying to stay on the good side of his hot anti-American Muslim girlfriend so he can continue sleeping with her.

Not hard to understand at all.

Kapernick is a stupid petulant child, who does not know when to stop digging.

He is one of those ALMOST smart people who thinks they are REALLY smart.

If he was really smart he would not have started this media contraversy, that did not help ANY cause, and will lose him a lucrative career.

He will be washign dishes for a living in 5 years if he is not careful

Colin would never understand American Exceptionalism or appreciate individualism and liberty. He’s a tool. Furthermore, the term ‘democracy’ is thrown around quite loosely. We’re supposed to be a constitutional republic, but we’ve strayed a bit, to say the least, from what the founders and framers envisioned.

I understand him.
He hates America.
What else do I need to know.
His employer, on the other hand, needs to realize that I will not watch any NFL nor support any NFL sponsors until the America-hater has been booted out.

Come on colon, you’re a celebrtiy. Just grab ‘em, etc. Not a very good endorsement for University of Nevada Reno is it as far as education. Or he missed the history classes. Or the current history classes have removed anything negative about regimes such as castro had.

At first, I was worried about this guy bringing a bomb into a stadium. But now I see that he’s done even more damage to the NFL without resorting to such tactics.

Well he has more opportunities. What 4 or 5 weeks left in the regular season?

Statistically, he had 7 good games. He almost won against the Dolphins, but was laid out by a son of a Cuban refugee to stop a last second TD.

Kaepernick is rich because of Capitalism. The owner of the 49’ers and the people own the NFL Stage. He should buy his own stage and quit srealing theirs, if he feels he needs to convince others to his point of view.

I doubt it is the sleeping he worries about. Besides walking around with a perpetual Hard on like this fool appears to be doing causes his brain to not have the necessary amount of blood to function properly, resulting in aberrant and senseless behavior.

In other words he has contracted a case of “stupid by pussy”
