Back when his national anthem protests were dominating headlines last summer, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick addressed reporters while wearing a Fidel Castro T-shirt, and that three-month-old decision earned him a heavy dose of boos Sunday at Miami

Copernicus should be playing for Buffalo.
The only thing that will get their attention is if you stop buying tickets and stop tuning in on TV.
That Angela Davis Martha-farger can drag his ass back to the 60s and 70s where he belong.
There are decent teams and decent players in the NFL. Krappydick does NOT represent most of them. He needs to be looking for new employment next year ... preferable one that doesn’t involve a ball or a large salary
I think he’s trying to get attention and impress his new leftist girlfriend. I will not watch the 49’s until management grows a pair and tells him that what he does outside a stadium is his business, but inside it he will show respect for the institutions that have given him everything he has.
Did they need another reason?
The very definition of “Useful Idiot”.
Now if we could only get him to wear a Hillary tshirt.
Stuart Varney just talked about this and said the 49ers lost a chance to tie the game with a play between Colin and a Cuban American player.
I doubt this is true. While the Miami area is dominated by unassimilated Hispanics, not many will be found at the football games.
They gave him the Bronx cheer because he’s an ahole.
She’s not just a Lefty. She’s a Muslim too!
He’s a muslim so why would he respect America?
Very, very untrue. The Orange Bowl sat in the heart of Little Havana for 70 years! They play salsa music at all the games, Cuban accents and Cuban people are a big part of the crowd.
University of Miami has tens of thousands of Cuban alumni, professors, staff, doctors at U Medicine and so forth. They are faithful season ticket holders. There were hundreds of celebratory Cuban flags and chanting in the crowd at Saturday’s football game against Duke.
Unassimilated? The original exiles have mainly passed. Nearly everyone is speaking or understanding English, finally! They are the dominant wealth -business owners and professionals of Miami.
I wonder if having that much hair inside the helmet minimizes the chance of concussions.
BTW:
Kapernick was clearly used by God this weekend. What are the odds of this timeline? First he was in Cuban Refugee city of Miami for game. Second he was wearing a pro-Castro shirt making pro-Castro States on Friday the day before Castro’s death. Miami goes from being outraged by this jerk’s statements to have a huge party of celebration. The next day Kapernick gets booed and loses to the Dolphins.
It is the way the Lord works. He has a great sense of humor.
And then to end the game
Cuban American NFL player Kiko Alonso stopped Kaepernick at the 2 yard-line to win the game for Miami. <—JUSTICE))))
FOX News reported:
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was jeered during his teams game against the Miami Dolphins Sunday after making comments that praised late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro during the week.
There were loud boos from the crowd when Kaepernick and the rest of the 49ers offense trotted onto the field for their first series, and more jeers just before the first down snap.
Kaepernick, who has kneeled during the National Anthem all season to protest police brutality and the treatment of minorities, defended Castro during a conference call Wednesday with South Florida reporters.
Castro, who died Friday, has strong critics within South Floridas large Cuban-American population
n a column published hours before Castros death was announced, Salguero said Kaepernick noted Cubas high literacy rate and claimed that they invest more in their education system than they do in their prison system, which we do not do here [in the U.S.] even though were fully capable of doing that.
When Salguero tried to ask Kaepernick about the disintegration of Cuban families under the Castro regime, the quarterback said We do break up families here Thats what mass incarceration is. That was the foundation of slavery. So our country has been based on that as well as the genocide of native Americans.
Salguero concluded his column by calling Kaepernick a fraud and an unrepentant hypocrite.
Kaepernick defended his statements after the game, which the Dolphins won, 31-24, after he was stopped two yards short of the potential game-tying touchdown.
What I said was, I agree with the investment in education, he said, according to WSVN. I also agree with the investment in universal health care, as well as the involvement in helping end apartheid in South Africa.
One of the Dolphins defenders in on the game-saving tackle of Kaepernick was linebacker Kiko Alonso, whose father was born in Cuba and fled the Castro regime.
Here’s why the San Francisco fans are booing Kaepernick. They’re 1 and 10.
