Here in Los Angeles, where nearly half of the city’s residents are Latino, Mayor Eric Garcetti has vowed to do everything he can to fight widespread deportations of illegal immigrants.
In New York, with a large and diverse Latino population, Mayor Bill de Blasio has pledged not to cooperate with immigration agents. And Mayor Rahm Emanuel of Chicago has declared that it “will always be a sanctuary city.” Across the nation, officials in sanctuary cities are gearing up to oppose President-elect Donald J. Trump if he follows through on a campaign promise to deport millions of illegal immigrants. They are promising to maintain their policies of limiting local law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration agents.

These cities usually lost their jobs decades ago, and the wealth transfers to residents (either Welfarians or illegals) ARE their new industry. Taking money from taxpayers and funneling it into the cities is the only way to keep them afloat (and the politicians’ pockets lined).
The way to do this is first make a connection between a crime (murder works best) committed by a illegal alien that was in a city with full knowledge of that city’s administration then arrest the mayor as an accomplice. Start in small cities that have not money for lawyers to fight back. Once they wave good bye to their mayor AND their funding Jose and and Maria will be helped to the city line.
Trump should focus his initial deportations on the 10 states with close election results: Colorado, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Virginia, North Carolina, New Hampshire and finally Minnesota.
Maybe Trump can call up state militias to help w/the enforcement.

In four short years there will be another census. Certain states will need every illegal counted in order to not lose a representative in Congress. It’s a double whammy for states like New York and Illinois. Not only will they lose another pig at the D.C. trough, they lose another guaranteed electoral vote for the ‘rats.

When they have to steal more from their productive citizens to foot the tab they may find themselves fighting more than Trump....
After the 2010 census, we should experience a net gain of 4+ electoral votes.
This will have the same effect as the democrats losing a reliably small blue state like Maine.

This matter has been settled numerous times. The federal government cannot order or compel local or state officials to assist federal law enforcement in enforcing federal law. That’s because both state and local governments are sovereigns.
However, local or state governments cannot interfere with the federal government and its officers enforcing the law.

Sounds like Federal ‘matching grants’ will be withheld — like when a capital project or education program gets the Feds to “match” what localities agree to contribute in funding. States and municipalities will be left having to ‘fund’ the WHOLE project, in those cases!
