Michelle Obama's bold exclamation that her husband was going to "change our traditions, our history," is perhaps what helped the Broadway musical Hamilton ring such happy notes into the ears of audiences and critics alike. I mean, does it really matter that in real life Aaron Burr wasn't dark-skinned, or that Alexander Hamilton wasn't Puerto Rican, or that other "old white guys" weren't really white?
And now, with the musical's tremendous success, what if the trend to play against type and to turn history and truth on its ear were to continue?
Three ideas are being offered here (and perhaps American Thinker readers can conjure up others) that could provide Broadway with a huge payday if these shows ever made it to the Great White Way:
* Jefferson 300: Imagine Thomas Jefferson and other Founding Fathers portrayed by actors 300 pounds or more (and the kicker: Ben Franklin is played by a short, skinny, black guy).
* The Color Purple (Sort of): Hopi, Iroquois, Cheyenne, and other Native Americans help open our eyes to the plight of "people of color" like no African-American cast ever could.
* Affirmative Action -- The Musical: Featuring an all-white cast.
Well, that's a start. And within five years we will probably be graced with a boffo new musical based on the man (the legend?) who saved America from George W. Bush: Obama -- Yes He Did!
I just hope the producers will be bold enough to cast Rachel Dolezal in the title role.

Most white actors are liberal. They will be HAPPY to step aside, cast away their White Privilege, and let the parts go to People Of Color. Indeed, white liberals are best put to use fetching coffee and folding towels. I support this trend.
Ok lets do a remake of “Shake Zulu” but with an all Asian cast!
If it shuts them all the hell up, I’m fine with it.
It’s a mighty big IF, I know.
Every couple of decades, Broadway gets so full of itself it drives its audience away. Then they start whining about how the arts are dying in America.
They are stealing our heritage.
Those men were some of the best thinkers.
Of course it doesn’t make any difference to people who can’t grasp that.
These men are trashed when they want.
They are cast as other ethnicities when they don’t.
Basketball
Football
Music
Theater
Movies
Many of the White rolls are going cast by people of other races. The White man had nothing on them, but look at history and see if that’s true. It isn’t.
This is a complete rewrite of history.

The next film version of “Huckleberry Finn” should have an all-black cast — except for Jim.
In a play about Obama, I’d like to see a white female play the part of Obama. Perhaps Ann Coutler could be The One.

I don’t see it that way. We still have it, but Hamilton illustrates for blacks the truths that the Framers strove to protect, haltingly, in the founding. You want blacks to be able to see things from the Framers’ POV. You want everyone, worldwide, to see things from the Framers’ POV.
When my children were young, I took them to the local theater tent to see a play about Pocahontas. I was surprised to see a very lovely young lady with very blond braids playing the title role and no it was Elizabeth Warren playing the part. I will say after a bit I forgot my shock over the actress’ blond hair and was able to concentrate on the story they were presenting.

Imagine the role of David Duke,in a movie, being played by Will Smith. It could happen, with this upside-down world we’re now living in.
They’re already doing it in a lot of movies. In comic book movies, Nick Fury, Kingpin and Deadshot were white characters cast with black actors. The upcoming Flash movie casts Flash’s white girlfriend with a black actress. And it’s rumored that in the upcoming Spider-Man movie, Mary Jane will be played by a black or “mixed” actress.
Seems to be unheard of to find the opposite happening though, where a white actor plays a black or brown role.
However, we do see that with some Asian roles. In Dr. Strange, the Ancient One was an Asian male in the comic books, which the movie changed to a white woman. The upcoming Ghost in the Shell casts Scarlet Johannsen as an Asian character. The yellows don’t get quite as much coddling from liberals as the browns and blacks. Of course affirmative action already devastates the college admissions opportunities of hardworking Asian kids nationwide.
I want to do Roots, but an all-white cast. Think it would upset anybody?
