The Obamas Are Buying a House In California Golf, sun, and no more press conferences. What's not to love?

According to the New York Post, the Obamas have reportedly purchased a house in Rancho Mirage, California, the same town to which President Gerald Ford retired after he left the White House.
The golf destination is also home to Sunnylands, the former Annenberg estate known as "Camp David of the West." The Desert Sun, the area's local daily newspaper, speculated in January that the Obamas were considering buying property in Thunderbird Heights, where houses on the market that month ranged from $1.39 million to $5 million.
Michael S. Smith, who decorated the White House for the Obamas and whose partner, James Costos, is the ambassador to Spain and Andorra, has a house in the neighborhood that the President has visited.
