Does Hillary Clinton still have a path to the White House?
That’s the provocative question posed by some computer security experts, who think voting results in key states could have been manipulated by hackers.
The emphasis here is on “could.” There’s no clear evidence that voting machines were rigged or that ballots were altered, but as reported Tuesday night in New York magazine, a group of computer scientists and election lawyers has urged Clinton to call for a recount in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, three swing states that Donald Trump won--to the surprise of just about every pollster, pundit, and journalist in America. Clinton would have to win those states back in order to change the outcome of the election. And while it’s tempting to blame hackers, and not the failure of the political professional class, for Trump’s upset, experts warn not to get your hopes up for a shocking turnaround. For hackers to have changed the votes in three states would have been even more surprising than Trump’s victory.
“There is zero evidence of tampering right now. Zero,” David Becker, the executive director of the Center for Election Innovation and Research, told The Daily Beast. The simpler explanation for why the vote deviated from expectations and historical trends was that Barack Obama wasn’t at the top of the ticket. The results for Clinton “only look off when you compare them to the Obama elections” in 2008 and 2012, Becker said.

If lefties have deliberately engineered (or even “carelessly permitted”) a system whose network is permeable enough to let them gin up votes — then by definition so can the Russians or the Chinese or anyone else who cares to try. Lefties’ leaving the back door unlocked has now blown up on them in confidence factor. Oops, now they care! Even though I wouldn’t have trusted any Ivan who said he wanted to do it, and ratted even to the Obama administration about any actual credible information that he did or tried.
Objections like this should most definitely be used as springboards for reproof to foolish lefties.

The Electoral College gives geographic representation to small population states, as does the US Senate.

Jill Stein already raised three million to recount Wisconsin. The deadline is tomorrow so guess we will see if she goes through with it.

Compared to 2008 and 2012? I’d say it’s more likely that those two years were the aberration.

That’s a side issue and hypothetical of course. The electoral college weighting system makes sense for a number of reasons yet. The point is that they made jolly well sure that nobody voted either twice, or without the formality of appearing (i.e. no votes from the hereafter).

I rise to support my esteemed colleagues and join the Democrats to suppress voter fraud. I make a motion that in the future, no one may register to vote without having proof of citizenship. All States which have granted drivers licences to illegal aliens must submit their names to the Federal Government, and these States must be diligent in the prevention of voting by illegal aliens. Further, States shall take all reasonable efforts to purge their lists of deceased persons, and of voters who have not voted in two consecutive national elections. Failure of States to faithfully discharge voter eligibility certification shall be deemed as intent to commit election fraud. Or something like that.
From what I understand voting machines aren’t even hooked up to the internet. So you would have to interface another computer directly to each voting machine if you wanted to hack into it. That would involve a conspiracy of a large amount of people sneaking into polling places and tampering with the machines. And of course everyone involved would have to keep quiet about it with no leaks.
We may have a “Florida hanging chad watch” situation on our hands.

So in other words, it would require the incumbent government to do so.
