Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich expressed skepticism Tuesday at reports that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was the frontrunner to be President-elect Donald Trump's secretary of state.
"I can think of 20 other people who would be more naturally compatible with the Trump vision of foreign policy," Gingrich told Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight."
...Gingrich added that his preferred choices for secretary of state over Romney included former Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl, former U.N. ambassador John Bolton, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and former Hewlett-Packard CEO and Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina.

KT McFarland would be better than all of ‘em, IMHO. She supported Trump during the campaign and has more knowledge in areas pertinent to a SOS tasks.
If Romney is the pick, I’ll sure save some time and angst in my life as I’ll be disengaged from politics. All trust and respect for Trump will be gone.

Romney really made me angry when he was up against Newt, but I voted for him because he would have been better than Obama. But he is reeking of sleezeball to me right now. I don’t like how he acted. NOT because I think that of them are incapable (I don’t), but solely because there are many parts of the world where they (and thus WE) would not be taken seriously. It isn’t about us, it is about how we represent ourselves to the rest of the world.
Pick a hard-ass guy, and combine him with a hard-ass SecDef, National Security Advisor and President, and we don’t have to worry about ANYONE screwing with us. Do this, and the Pax Americana returns (at least for a while).

Romney would be good at the VA, if he could reform it as he did so successfully the Olympics, but never will he be a trust worthy fit to TRUMP, for an out-of-country position, where he will likely be just as interested in globalizing Mormanism as to secure the interests of President TRUMP and the United States.
