LOS EBANOS, Texas All along the winding Rio Grande, the people who live in this bustling, fertile region where the U.S. border meets the Gulf of Mexico never quite understood how Donald Trumps great wall could ever be much more than campaign rhetoric.
Erecting a concrete barrier across the entire 1,954-mile frontier with Mexico, they know, collides head-on with multiple realities: the geology of the river valley, fierce local resistance and the immense cost.

Its already in wide use and expanding.
If a 30- to 40-foot concrete wall is a panacea for illegal immigration, as Trump insisted during the campaign, the locals are not convinced. And few were surprised when the president-elect seemed to soften his position five days after the election, saying that the wall could include some fencing.

PBS = Fake News
Sucks to be you. Now move or get bulldozed.
Objections overrulled. Build That Wall!
NPR and PBS should not get a penny of taxpayer money.
” a few americans” is the truth of the headline. What lawful american by the border would be cool with the lawlessness of rampant illegal human trafficking?
This story was BS earlier today and it is STILL BS now...
It’s a done daal.
The Wall will be built.
It will be a Great Wall.
“PBS = Fake News”
Exactly! What I heard is just opposite.
I'm thinking immediate border land neighbors would be split, because the fence and it's attendant support would eat up some of their land, and change it's character. No more peaceful unobstructed view of the placid Rio Grande, por ejemplo.
I'd also bet that if you averaged responses over people within, mebbe 25 miles of the border, you'd find them overwhelmingly for it.
BS.
“T” walls are not that expensive and are very quickly erected. The military has lots of experience putting those up.
BTW: Actual interviews with property owners along the border claim they are all in favor of the wall.
Gut them like dead fish. The Polish Law and Order party last fall won, and the first thing they did was to defund their corrupt state sponsored media. Trump will cut off any and every penny to journalism sourced by the Fed Govt.
That’s the US/Mexico border, not the TexasNMArizonaCalif/Mexico border.
Sorry, I believe these people who live near the border more than I believe PBS people.

What a pantload.
Build the wall. Build it. Build it, and defend our borders.
Lol! Perfect response.
ROFL!
Americans killed, injured or their friends and relatives killed or injured by illegals don’t agree.
People living near San Quentin say prison is unwelcome. Let’s just jet them all run free then.
