This is the real target. He will let everyone think he is not pursuing her on the private email server, however, that is not the same as saying the Clinton Foundation (being a totally separate entity) will not be looked at.

The guy is brilliant.

>> I expect him to keep his campaign promises immediately after he is sworn in.

He needs to get done as much as possible in his first 100 days.

I think the media is trying to use a generic comment by Kellyanne Conway to paint Trump into a corner.

No elected official should comment to the media about potential criminal charges against a political opponent.

I think her point was Trump is not pursuing filing charges. He is focused on other things right now.

She did not comment on the on going investigations of Clinton and the Clinton Foundation.

Nor should she.

Trump did NOT say this so she can’t ‘confirm’ it. It’s a self serving story the MSM is pushing...

I am glad. Do not want to see her flipping mug on the news and the left spin this out of control.

The fact is that the Obama administration already conducted an investigation and already determined that there was nothing there.

This just confirms that the political class will continue to be above the law in a Trump administration.

Whether or not Hillary goes to jail is not a political issue. To treat it as such is a banana republic move. There is plenty of evidence to put her in cuffs right now. To ignore it is to create a class of society that never needs to concern themselves with the law.

The email is a bunch of security violations that can be plea bargained down to community service.

The Foundation is TREASON, BRIBERY, RACKETEERING, ETC. That involves hard time for multiple people. The only question on Jan. 20 is who still has functional immunity due to the email case and who doesn’t. Then let the prosecutor go.

No doubt that is true. But Trump and Conway are distancing themselves from Trump's earlier statements about going after Hillary. No escaping that. In any event Trump should not have to say something one way or the other about what an AG may or may not do.

If his spokeswoman said it, then yes, that means Trump said it. That’s kinda how it works.

My intuition says that there are other larger crimes that she can and likely will be charged with. That the email issue is minor, comparatively and that dropping the charge issue is like a plea bargain.

I also think she’ll end up financially ruined, that she’s politically castrated. The queen is off the board so to speak. It could also be that she is forced to stop stealing the election via elector influence in exchange for no charges on the email issue.

We have to keep remembering, Trump is a negotiator. When he negotiates a deal, it’s a good deal for both parties, and probably a better solution than the original issue was in the first place.

Top secret is whatever the president says it is and all it would take is Obama saying she had his consent to do what ever for whatever reasons. No security compromised in that case.

Furthermore, I think that what a lot of what government does is in reality...illegal and that the entire system could be charged with whatever, from the prez on down so that it becomes unreasonable to pursue charges without unintended consequences.

And finally, it’s likely that as mentioned, her health isn’t going to hold up, anyway. The issue becomes pretty much moot. No point in wasting the money and effort. The consequences of the deeds themselves become her punishment.

The old saying “the bigger they are, the harder they fall’’ is obvious and evident at this point.

I think it just means nothing more than he’ll let others do their jobs - as it should be. I don’t believe it is wise to personally go after her, it would not be justice. If the CF investigations turn out to be much bigger than her email server scandal then she’ll get what she deserves.

Trump has to rebuild FBI. It is corrupt. More of a priority than slamming an old marxist in jail. Do not want to see her 24/7 on news as being persecuted by the Trump admin. Bring the hammer down on FBI. They have much to answer for & this can be done quietly.

If Donald Trump carries out Kelly Ann Conway's statement that his Justice Department will not pursue criminality at the highest level in American history, crimes against which Donald Trump based his own campaign, he will have shown himself to be of the same stripe as James Comey and our disgraced Attorney General. The only difference between them is that the latter two sought to cover up a crime for political reasons which were based motivations while Donald Trump seeks to cover up a crime for political reasons with arguably more charitable motivations.

Whatever his motivations Donald Trump will vindicate every charge we placed against him in the primary season that he could not be trusted. It is not how he feels but his duty that is his only proper guide. Whatever his motivation, if this statement is true Donald Trump will have already betrayed his duty as the nation's chief law enforcement officer for the reasons contained in this reply which I filed on November 17:

Unfortunately for Hillary her criminality is not about her, it is about the rule of law. I say unfortunately because we have been down this road before with Hillary when Ken Starr concluded, much for political reasons, that he would not bring indictments against Hillary Clinton in the Whitewater/Lewinsky investigation, an investigation which explored numerous acts of potential criminality by Hillary involving FBI records, law office records, lying, and obstruction of justice to name just some of the potential crimes which come the memory after nearly 20 years.

Not a bit chastised by her escape from justice, Hillary embarked on a career of profiteering from her office on a massive scale. When she was in Arkansas as the wife of the attorney general's soon-to-be governor she had sold those offices for $100,000 in the cattle futures bribery trading scam. 40 years later as Secretary of State, she was selling out her nation's security for hundreds of millions of dollars. She set up an illegal server in a premeditated scheme to conceal her venality; she did this quite heedless of the obvious risks to the national security and in blatant will violation of the espionage act. She had the evil intent to clandestinely sell her office and use the Clinton Foundation as a slush fund to finance her political ambitions as well as her own luxurious lifestyle, yet another criminal intent motivating her to install the illegal server.

These crimes constitute the most serious corruption in American history because they have been done at the highest level. The betrayal of security potentially rivals that of the Rosenbergs in risk to the nation. There can be no question of Hillary's guilty mens rea. She is a highly educated attorney who was well briefed in the law and regulations concerning the maintenance of confidential information and the ethics required of a cabinet officer. Her violation of law was knowing, deliberate and part of a greater scheme. She knowingly participated in a felonious conspiracy with her husband to trade on their prominence and their offices.

Her prominence as former first lady, Senator, Secretary of State, and nominated presidential candidate only makes her actions more blameworthy and the need to submit her to justice the more necessary for the national good.

Others of lower political station or of no political station of any kind have been prosecuted and seriously punished for each of these crimes which in degree are trivial when compared to the transgressions of Hillary Clinton.

To pardon Hillary or to decline to prosecute Hillary Clinton under these damning circumstances would be to inflict a blow to the body politic and leave the rule of law in shatters hastening the substitution of cynicism for justice and bring our Democratic Republic even closer to disintegration.

I was afraid I was going to her W saying We should just move on.” And her it is. I don’t believe Trump would have won had he not threatened jail for Hillary. Now all of a sudden they’re good people. Gag me with a maggot.

The President, whoever it might be, does not pursue charges against people. He/she lets the DOJ do it. If charges are warranted Trump’s DOJ will pursue it according to law. He just doesn’t want her to be pardoned by Obama.

Geez! The man hasn’t even been sworn in yet; His AG hasn’t been confirmed; current investigations are still ongoing, and he has a big stinking pile of crap that’s gonna be sitting on his desk - DAY ONE!

Can we all just take a breath, and let things play out before condemning the guy?
