Donald Trump’s media summit was a ‘ f—ing firing squad’
NY Post ^ | November 21, 2016 | Emily Smith and Daniel Halper

President-elect Donald Trump exploded at media bigs in an off-the-record Trump Tower powow on Monday, sources told The Post.

“It was like a f—ing firing squad,” said one source.

“Trump started with Jeff Zucker and said I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed….

“The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down,” the source added.

A second source confirmed the encounter.

“The meeting took place in a big board room and there were about 30 or 40 people, including the big news anchors from all the networks…,” the source said.

“Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong. He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was network of liars.

“Trump didn’t say Katy Tur by name, but talked about an NBC female correspondent who got it wrong, then he referred to a horrible network correspondent who cried when Hillary lost who hosted a debate – which was Martha Raddatz who was also in the room.

Trump has been given to us by God, even though we did not deserve him. Thank you God.

Problem is who do you set up to decide who is conservative? Many of the so called conservatives of the MSM are really there as placeholders and are no more conservative then Paul Ryan.

Elections. The idea I have been floating is to create a board of governors elected by the public in each state. Seeing as we control the vast majority of the State governments, I would expect the board of governors to be a little on the conservative side.

I don’t think CNN always lies. Often they simply manipulate or deceive.

This is going to be so interesting. Trump in now the President elect. The Media can rant and bitch all they want, but he will still be President. Wikileaks proved beyond a doubt that many in the media are biased beyond believe and unethical.

They can say hey not us, but no one will believe them.

Trump has made a Supreme Court Justice repent. I expect some of the media to talk this over and some will repent and others will rebel and double down. Soon the ones that repent will be able to scoop and shame the media elite that doubles down.

I hope that Trump has a litmus test of no Wikileaks exposed bias as a condition of gaining a White House Press Corps credential. I further would hope that even if there are clean reporters from networks like CNN, that a letter be addressed to the network indicating they their bias has been noted and that a press credential is given to someone with an unbiased record conditionally, and if they are found to fail in their journalistic ethics to be unbiased, that the credential of the network representative will be withdrawn.

The public will understand, at least those that have open minds and open eyes.

"The principle that all sides have equal access to the public is the higher principle involved here, and we need to find a way to insure that principle is operative in this country."

I agree, but you know that it is not through force. That is a totalitarian solution. BTW, the "soapbox" actually worked putting Trump in place of the socialist Hellery. Apparently, it can still work. It was Trump's huge rallies that turned many people, while Hellery had some 2-300 people attending. Best.

I like the power in the hands of the people who can turn off the station. I don’t trust boards made up of folks who can be bought nor do I trust the people in the state to care enough to find out about the people they elect (how will they find out if they do care?...the MSM)?

The Government (Federal/State) could be of help by reserving licenses to American owned companies and restricting monopolies.

Thanks for posting the new reality:

“Yes, we have entered into a new media reality...

No longer does someone NEED the MSM to “report” on them...

Trump has something like 50 million data points of contacts in his data base built on the RNC data, facebook, and twitter...

Trump can easily bypass the MSM to get is message out...

They simply have not figured that out yet... “

He is now able to take his case directly to the people whereas before the media was able to only report what they ‘wanted’ to report while ignoring the rest.

Not quite. We have the Internet, which gets more hits/coverage than all the networks put together.☺

It's a whole new world.

You may be right, I won't disagree. I have detested the media since the Clinton administration and hold them the most to blame for what progressives have done to our country. Anything they get, they deserve.

I do think if the situation was as described in the article, a good number of those media members would have publicly attacked Trump immediately...unless he put the fear of God into them and gave them a very good reason not to. I'm guessing he did.
